Planned Parenthood’s Body-Snatching Exposed
By Laurie Higgins   |   07.14.15
image_pdfimage_printHumans have an astonishing capacity for embracing deception in the service of selfish and disordered desires. There is no more apt illustration of that truth than Planned Parenthood which has developed a ghastly organization that depends on deception to advance...

For the first time ever, IFI will be hosting two esteemed speakers, both of whom are prolific authors. Douglas Wilson is the senior minister at Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho; faculty member of New Saint Andrews College; one of the editors of the homeschooling Omnibus series; and apologist extraordinaire whose debates with famed atheist Christopher Hitchens were documented in the film Collision.
Girl Scouts, Faux-Courage, and Leonard Pitts
By Laurie Higgins   |   07.08.15
image_pdfimage_printLeonard Pitts is out in orbit —I mean, over the moon—over the CEO of the Girl Scouts of Western Washington’s refusal of a $100,000 donation to the Girl Scouts that stipulated the money could not be used to support “transgender...
Anti-Marriage Deceivers and Fools
By Laurie Higgins   |   07.07.15
image_pdfimage_printIf I had a nickel for every time a liberal said it’s a slippery slope fallacy to claim that the legalization of homoerotic marriage would necessarily result in the legal recognition of plural unions, I would be a very rich...

By Laurie Higgins   |   07.01.15
image_pdfimage_printThe Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention just released a document titled “Here We Stand: An Evangelical Declaration on Marriage,”  signed by scores of religious leaders. It is largely an excellent document that embodies an unequivocal,...
SCOTUS Finds for Fiction and Iniquity 5-4
By Laurie Higgins   |   06.26.15
image_pdfimage_printThe U.S. Supreme Court decision in the Obergefell v. Hodges case provides yet more evidence that smart people can be monumentally foolish. This decision not only denies reality but also robs citizens of their right to self-government. From the gaseous...
Apology to PCA and Clarification About Heresy
By Laurie Higgins   |   06.26.15
image_pdfimage_printI received two thoughtful messages in response to an article I wrote about heresies related to homosexuality making inroads into churches. The men who wrote were concerned that the list of denominations I included could be misinterpreted as suggesting that...
Affirming and Concealing Heresy, Denying Grace
By Laurie Higgins   |   06.24.15
Forty years after the end of the Vietnam War, the iconic and horrific photo of a young girl running naked down a road, screaming in pain as her skin is burned away by napalm has now become transformed into an iconic photo of unfathomable forgiveness and God’s fathomless grace.
Jenner, Dolezal, and Teenager Caden Boone
By Laurie Higgins   |   06.18.15
image_pdfimage_printThrough their foolishness, selfishness, and arrogance, “progressives” are responsible for the harm being done to children, teens, the family, the church, the First Amendment, and what’s left of American culture. Through our ignorance, selfishness, cowardice, and passivity (if not apathy),...

By Laurie Higgins   |   06.12.15
image_pdfimage_printOnce more for the hard of hearing or weak of understanding: The athlete formerly known as Bruce is not now nor ever can be a woman. Further, it is the apex of cruelty and ignorance to pretend along with him...
Hurling Boulders at the Duggars
By Laurie Higgins   |   06.09.15
image_pdfimage_printThe Duggar controversy illuminates the truth that the cultural battle in which Christians are engaged is first and foremost a battle with principalities and powers:  “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the...
Come Hear the Remarkable Douglas Wilson!
By Laurie Higgins   |   06.06.15
image_pdfimage_printA troubling and unbiblical notion has infected the church in America. Christians falsely believe that the Bible teaches that Christians should always and in every context speak “nicely,” and by “nicely” they mean in ways that listeners don’t find objectionable....
Academia Abandons Wisdom, Then Reality
By Laurie Higgins   |   06.04.15
“Progressives,” always plagued by inconsistency and hypocrisy, have been for years waxing self-righteous about their deep commitments to diversity, to “honoring all voices,” and to “critical thinking.” They’ve also been devotees of relativism, subjectivism, radical autonomy, and deconstructionism. But when it comes to homosexuality and gender confusion, all liberal principles are abandoned in their voguish, slavish devotion to absolute, transcendent, eternal pro-perversion orthodoxy.
