These last several weeks have been pretty tough for our nation. In addition to observing the 20 year anniversary of the September 11th attacks, we’ve seen flooding in Tennessee that left over twenty people dead and we’ve witnessed the devastating effects of Hurricane Ida in Louisiana and parts of the northeast. We are devastated at the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan which resulted in the death of thirteen special heroes and countless Afghani allies.

There are just a few weeks remaining until IFI's $45,000 Summer Matching Grant deadline of September 6th. So far, we have raised almost $30, 000. So we are three-quarters of the way to our goal.
That means we must raise $10,000 between today and Labor Day!

Shortly after Dallas Seminary was founded in the early 1920’s, it came to the point of bankruptcy and almost folded. On the morning it was to be foreclosed, the founders and leaders of the school met in the president's office to pray that God would provide.Harry Ironside was present at that prayer meeting. He boldly prayed, "Lord, we know that the cattle on a thousand hills are Thine. Please sell some of them and send us the money."

In the Gospels, often we see Jesus going to a secluded place to spend time with the Father in prayer. We are blessed to have some of the prayers of Jesus recorded in the Holy Scriptures. One of the most intimate prayers our Lord prayed was in the Garden of Gethsemane. Moments before His arrest, Jesus’ humanity was on display as He poured His heart out to the Father.

On Thursday afternoon, the Illinois Senate took up and debated another "comprehensive" sex education bill (SB 818) that so-called "progressives" and their evil allies are using to indoctrinate children starting in kindergarten.

Various establishment "news" outlets happily reported this development but, of course, intentionally used the wrong pronouns to identify Mr. Jenner in their stories. We are thrilled to see that the onerous (and unconstitutional) COVID-19 mandates are being relaxed. There is light at the end of the tunnel. As most Illinoisans, we here at IFI are anxious to return to a normal routine, including hosting special events, conferences, forums and of course, our annual banquet.
