Redeeming The Time During This COVID-19 Crisis
Since so many Americans are being asked to employ extreme social-distancing measures and/or have had to “shelter-at-home” due to COVID-19, we want to make sure you and your family are aware of some great resources and free content we have on our social media platforms and especially on the IFI YouTube channel.
As you know, Illinois Family Institute works diligently to disseminate Judeo-Christian truths in the public square via any and all possible communication media. We dare not leave social media, which increasingly is a large part of the public square, devoid of our voice.
Moreover, this is a remarkable opportunity to be challenged intellectually, become better informed, and further develop our Christian worldview. For example, this month we are rolling out video sessions from our Worldview Conference held early last month in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. We also have video sessions from previous Worldview Conferences and keynote speeches from our annual banquets.
We have compelling video interviews with Christian leaders like Professor Anthony Esolen, Pastor Doug Wilson, Dr. Robert A.J. Gagnon, Dr. Michael L. Brown, Dr. Allan Carlson, and author Rod Dreher. There are special presentations or interviews that include Dr. Erwin Lutzer, Brigitte Gabriel, Anni Cyrus, Lt. Gen Jerry Boykin, and dozens of pro-life and/or pro-family leaders. There are short videos and there are longer videos available to you and your family to help you in your Christian walk.
Wise King Solomon wrote in Proverbs 29, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
The Apostle Peter wrote 2,000 years ago,
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15).
Those inspired words are as true today as they were millennia ago. It is our prayer, that by using these multiple platforms, we will shine the light of the Gospel and dispense the salt, to share God’s standard and plan for mankind to thrive, and to help all of us better equip yourselves with the answers for the hope that is in us.
Please join us in this great venture, using the latest iteration of the Gutenberg press—digital and social media—as we attempt to teach the world to observe all that God commands.
You can also follow and interact with IFI on Facebook, Twitter, and via the Illinois Family App for Android or iPhone; listen to the weekly Illinois Family Institute podcast; and sign up for Text Alerts, which serve as an SOS for critical information and alerts.
We hope and pray that all concerned citizens will take advantage of these tools to equip them spiritually and intellectually to engage in the critically important work of creating a culture in which truth prevails and families flourish.
