Those Attacks on Gas Stoves Aren’t Really about Health

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently announced that indoor gas stoves emitted harmful pollution. Several studies claim that the use of gas can cause respiratory illness. The CPSC is considering restrictions on gas stoves, including possible bans in new residential construction. But attacks on gas stoves are based on questionable science and are largely driven by concerns not related to health.

Insult and Injury: The Problem of Pot and Pesticides

Bifenazate, Trifloxystrobin, Abamectin, Bifenthrin. Do these names sound like healthy ingredients or chemicals you would feel comfortable ingesting in foods or beverages? These are pesticides that have been discovered in laboratory-tested samples of “medical” marijuana and marijuana products that were promoted and sold as pesticide-free by California dispensaries.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), “Bifenazate has no anticipated dietary exposures. Therefore, an aggregate risk assessment is not warranted.” Additionally, the EPA states that, “the uses proposed for bifenazate are non-food uses and there are no expected dietary exposures. Exiting the Paris Climate Agreement

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt appeared on “Fox & Friends” April 13 and said, “Paris is something we really need to look at closely, because it’s something we need to exit, in my opinion.” Why? “It’s a bad deal for America. China and India had no obligations under the agreement until 2030, we front-loaded all of our costs, at the expense of jobs.” That’s a good start. It should resonate well with Americans who use electricity at home or work and gas or diesel in their cars — i.e., pretty much all of us.
