Illinois’ Pro-Human Slaughter Devotees Help Out-of-State Abortion Seekers

It’s hard to fathom that for some people, facilitating human slaughter is the animating purpose of their lives. For some, ensuring that women are legally free to slaughter their own offspring is what gives their lives meaning. And unfortunately, many of them live in Illinois, thereby ensuring that the Illinois swamp is filled with not just fetid excrement coming from Springfield and the governor’s mansion but also with the blood of human fetuses.

Illinois’ human dismemberment and disposal industry has moved into high gear in preparation for Roe v. Wade to be overturned, at which point, more states will pass regulations limiting or eliminating abortion accessibility. On Jan. 21, 2022, the Chicago Tribune reported that “Each year, thousands of women cross state lines to have an abortion in Illinois—and that number could grow exponentially as pending U.S. Supreme Court decisions and new laws in various states challenge reproductive rights across large swaths of the nation.”

In anticipation of possible new laws to protect the right of tiny humans not to be exterminated, Hope Clinic in Granite City, Illinois and Reproductive Health Services of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region have colluded to create the Regional Logistics Center, which is housed in the Planned Parenthood slaughterhouse in Fairview Heights, Illinois.

The anodyne-sounding Regional Logistics Center connects pregnant women—also known as mothers—with “various resources to help with everything from paying for the procedure to travel costs to finding a place to stay overnight.” Leftists want Illinois streets stained with the blood of babies from around the country.

(It is notable that human slaughter-related facilities are never located in affluent left-leaning communities like Highland Park or Glencoe. While Fairview Heights has a median household income of $49, 131 and Granite City of $43,759, Highland Park’s is $100,967 and Glencoe’s is $193,571. You would think liberal towns and villages would be eager to demonstrate their support for the “fundamental right” of women to off their offspring by welcoming abattoirs into their communities.)

Trib reporter Angie Leventis Lourgos leaps ungracefully over the human dimensions of the new project in efficiency:

[W]omen traveling here to terminate a pregnancy will have a new resource designed to make the process easier.

If ever there were a “process” in need of ease, it has to be having one’s child killed. Grease up that “process” so no woman has time to listen to any inner voices telling her to stop.

How embarrassing for reporters to resort to using euphemistic phrases like “terminate a pregnancy.” Is there anyone over the age of twelve who doesn’t know that “terminating a pregnancy” means terminating the life of a fellow human being?

The Regional Logistics Center celebrated its opening “just before the 49th anniversary of the landmark U.S. Supreme Court abortion rights case Roe v. Wade.” The virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony was virtually attended by Illinois’ morally vacuous governor, J.B. Pritzker, who ironically called the center’s dark business, “‘lifesaving and life-changing work.’” Well, I guess when abortionists turn life into non-life, one could call the work “life-changing.”

Megan Jeyifo, Chicago Abortion Fund

Megan Jeyifo
Chicago Abortion Fund

In an effort to ensure that Illinois remains the Midwest’s premier killing field, this month Pritzker put his money where his mouth is, donating “$100,000 from his campaign to the Personal PAC Independent Committee, whose purpose is preserving reproductive rights in Illinois ‘by making independent expenditures to elect pro-choice candidates to state and local office.’”

One of the resources to which the Regional Logistics Center will connect pregnant women is the Chicago Abortion Fund, whose executive director Megan Jeyifo has ordered the killing of more than one of her own offspring. Finally, she allowed two of her offspring to survive the treacherous waters of her womb and now says this about them:

I honor my abortions when I hug my children. My abortions made their life possible.

Jeyifo sees child sacrifice as a noble deed, one about which she offers this advice to women as they prepare to end the lives of their children:

Wear comfortable clothes. Plan out and look forward to a yummy meal after. Text your best friend. Know that you are making a decision for yourself that is powerful.

Jeyifo has a two-part mission. The first part consists of helping women have their children killed, and the second part is persuading others that killing humans is a noble cause:

Destigmatizing abortion is a really critical component.

What Jeyifo doesn’t say is that destigmatizing human slaughter necessarily entails stigmatizing opposition to human slaughter. Leftists don’t really oppose stigmas, shaming, and judging as they claim they do. Rather, they just want to ensure that moral truths and the people who express them are judged, stigmatized, and shamed.

The morally repugnant Jeyifo who was encumbered in her quests to end her former children’s lives by travel obstacles argues,

I think about what it took for me to travel. … I make really clear to the callers that the difficulty you face in accessing an abortion has nothing to do with the morality of an abortion. It’s a systemic failure in this country. Abortion is health care.

For the umpteenth time, abortion ends the life of an innocent human being. That’s science. Killing innocent humans is not health care. And in no moral universe is the intentional ending of an innocent human life morally defensible. The participation of political leaders, medical professionals, and Big Business in this barbaric practice is a systemic failure in this country.

Anyone hell-bent on keeping human slaughter legal, anyone so ignorant as to believe the Founding Fathers embedded in the Constitution a “right” of mothers to have their children slaughtered lacks both knowledge and wisdom. And anyone who ardently supports and facilitates human slaughter is evil.

Abortion Battle Continues as Pandemic Rages

As the Coronavirus pandemic wears on, government officials have shut down schools and businesses while stressing social distancing. The work continues to get personal protective equipment (PPE) into the hands of medical personnel with even elective surgeries canceled for the foreseeable future. However, the pandemic hasn’t slowed down the abortion industry. Several states have tried to close abortion clinics, calling the procedure an elective surgery that would take up medical resources, and Planned Parenthood has fought back in the courts to keep their doors open.

Only the state of Texas placed an outright ban on abortions as elective surgeries until the end of the pandemic. On April 7, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the ban that Texas governor Greg Abbott put in place categorizing an abortion as an elective surgery. Planned Parenthood has petitioned the case to the U.S. Supreme Court. Other states that have deemed abortions to be elective surgeries are Alaska, Indiana, Iowa, Mississippi, Ohio, and Oklahoma. The Oklahoma ban was blocked in court April 6.

In an April 3 letter to supporters, Jennifer Welch, president & CEO of Planned Parenthood of Illinois (PPIL), shared, “To best serve our patients during this crisis, we have temporarily consolidated into six ‘Mission Health Centers’ to provide essential services including medical and in-clinic abortion care.” The six centers are located in Aurora, Flossmoor, Peoria, Springfield, and two in Chicago. However, eyewitnesses have noted that the Planned Parenthood in Fairview Heights has continued to receive patients.

National Planned Parenthood as well as PPIL have also continued to fund-raise heavily during the pandemic. In an apparent reference to the states that that don’t consider abortions essential medical procedures, Welch wrote, “We are also taking action against those who attempt to use the pandemic as an excuse to restrict health care for millions of people across the country.”

Abortions continue in Metro East area

In Illinois, the abortion industry is still going strong. The 18,000-square-foot Planned Parenthood abortion clinic built in secrecy in Fairview Heights and just 13 miles away from downtown St. Louis, Mo., has been a source of controversy since it opened in October 2019.

Angela Michael is a pro-life activist and head of Small Victories Pregnancy Outreach. Michael, a former obstetrical nurse, protests regularly outside the clinic in Fairview Heights and a nearby clinic in Granite City, called Hope Clinic. The latter is a privately-owned women’s health clinic that mainly provides abortions and sits across the street from the city’s only hospital.

Hope Clinic tweeted Governor JB Pritzker to complain about, and called the local police to disband, a group of protestors outside the clinic March 27. The group consisted of Michael and three others. Four police officers arrived, and Michael shared in a Facebook message that, perhaps upon seeing the body camera she was wearing, they told the pro-life advocates to “Have a nice day.”

Michael publishes eyewitness accounts from the two clinics almost daily to the Small Victories Pregnancy Outreach Facebook page. She has been noting the large groups of people entering the clinics, failing to practice social distancing, and cars traveling there from as far away as Colorado.

According to the Guttmacher Institute, there were 40 facilities providing abortions in Illinois in 2017, and 25 of those were abortion clinics.

ACLU & Hope Abortion Clinic Target Illinois Parental-Notification Law

The ACLU has filed a lawsuit on behalf of Dr. Allison Cowett and Hope Clinic for Women Ltd. to stop Illinois’ parental notification law from taking effect on Nov. 3, 2009. This law requires that minor girls under the age of 18 notify their parents prior to an abortion and wait 48 hours. Note that this is merely a parentalnotification law– not a parental consent law. In addition, Illinois, like all 34 other states that have parental notification laws, has a judicial bypass option available to girls. In addition, girls can bypass parental notification in an emergency situation or if they are willing to declare in writing that they were raped.

According to a Chicago Tribune article, Dr. Allison Cowett and the Hope Clinic claim that “the notification law would harm minors by preventing them from obtaining safe abortions or force them to carry their pregnancies to term.” This is an ironic claim coming from a clinic that is being sued for a botched abortion that left a now 20-year-old woman sterile. According to LifeNews.com, “Antoinette Blanton, who is 20, filed a $50,000 against the abortion center saying the failed March 2006 abortion caused her to be sterile. According to the lawsuit, abortion practitioner Allen S. Palmer, of Bridgeton, failed to remove the entire unborn child during the abortion procedure.”

Dr. Cowett, a committed pro-abortion advocate, and the Hope Clinic further claim that “Others (minor girls) will be beaten or thrown out of their homes when their parents learn of their pregnancy and planned abortion.” But the judicial bypass option is available to any girl who fears such a response. It hardly seems fair to deny all loving, compassionate parents a right to help their daughters make a decision regarding major surgery that carries both serious physical risks and potentially long-term emotional consequences because some girls may choose not to avail themselves of the judicial bypass option.

Dr. Cowett is an assistant professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago and director of the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Center of Reproductive Health. Her research “focuses on abortion in the 2nd trimester, factors affecting women’s contraceptive choices, and access to family planning services.” According to her biography, she is “active in community-wide efforts to forward a legislative agenda that champion’s women’s reproductive freedom.” Apparently, she wants to champion teenage girl’s right to kill even younger pre-born girls through both legislative and judicial means.

And she’s willing to forge an unholy alliance with a clinic that has long been criticized by pro-life warriors for myriad offenses against humanity and sound medical practice. Retired ob-gyn nurse Angela Michael and her husband Daniel have been struggling mightily for seventeen long years to expose the nefarious deeds of the grossly misnamed “Hope” Clinic. According to Mrs. Michael, approximately 80 percent of abortions come from across state lines which suggests that most of the abortions are performed on minor girls. Illinois has long been the Midwest’s abortion mecca for underage girls, since all of the surrounding states have parental notification laws. The Hope Clinic is just a hop, skip, and short car ride from Missouri where underage girls would need to notify their parents prior to procuring an abortion. To learn more about the Hope Clinic, peruse Angela and Daniel Michael’s website Small Victories Ministries.

At least as troubling is that Hope Clinic performs the utterly barbaric practice of late-term abortions. Dr. Yogendra Shah is the George Tiller of Hope Clinic. According to the Thomas More Society in Chicago “Shah is perhaps the Midwest’s most wicked abortionist. He’s the notorious serial killer who once clogged the municipal sewer system with the arms, legs, rib cages, and heads of aborted babies. Municipal officials were shocked. They traced the body parts to Shah’s ghastly abortion mill, the so-called “Hope Clinic for Women” in Granite City, Illinois . . . he kills about 10,000 babies a year. No wonder he can afford an expensive watch and a Mercedes and a Lexus.” This is the same man who “tried to run Daniel over. . .And then. . . glared at Angela. . . and shouted, ‘Die, Angela, Die!'”

One can’t help but wonder if the chief concern of doctors at Hope Clinic is really the health and safety of underage girls. Someone needs to look into how much money teen abortions generate for the Hope Clinic.

And we all need to pray fervently for two things: first, that the ACLU, Dr. Allison Cowett, and Hope Clinic lose their lawsuit, and second, that the Hope abattoir closes its blood-stained doors forever.

Hope Clinic Slaughterhouse Butchers Arkansas Girl

Written by Angela Michael –SmallVictoriesUSA.com

Midwest’s largest late-term abortion mill, where parental consent is not necessary, maimed yet another pregnant mother and murdered her six month old baby.

“The doctors were getting lazy when I was there. They are inducing a lot more women to speed up the process. I’ve seen some stuff and frankly am tired of the clinic… I hate all the bad things they are doing, putting lives in danger!” ~ former Hope Clinic employee

On Friday we found out that Jahila, from Arkansas, was 24 weeks pregnant. She already had another baby back home and didn’t think she could handle another one. She went inside. At 10:30 a.m. some clients began leaving the abortion mill with their brown bags. Sometime after we left around 11:30 the young mother from Arkansas was rushed across the street.

We arrived at the crime scene Saturday morning only minutes after one of the new butcherettes came back from Gateway Regional Hospital, conveniently located across the street from this slaughterhouse, which continues to aid in the cover-up of “back-alley abortions” happening inside Hope Clinic across the street. We were informed by witnesses the Hope chop-shop employee was inside the hospital approximately thirty minutes. We signaled point guards “red alert”; aka botched abortion, another mutilation. Sure enough, it was the young girl from Arkansas.

The upset boyfriend came out to his car carrying bloodied clothes in a clear, plastic bag and placed them in the backseat of his car which was parked on the emergency room lot. He then went inside the hospital.

A while later, Jessica Mitcherson, the unlicensed personnel who does ultrasounds inside Hope(less), and a new butcherette came out of the abortion mill with a wheelchair. They were headed into the hospital to retrieve the botched abortion, the girl from Arkansas who suffered complications on Friday, when the mill first started her 2 day late-term procedure at the hands of either Alan Palmer, who tends to have more gross negligence and malpractice lawsuits, or chief abortionist Yogendra Shah

Another employee has stated, “It is an assembly line inside there.” The last nurse they hired refused to run the O.R. rooms due to liability issues with these careless abortionists. Currently the “deadly Dixon duo” sisters are running them, with Clara being the certified nurse’s aide. In December, Hope Clinic contracted a former nurse to work on a per diem basis, which pays more money than a hired employee to sign out records, etc. She has not returned since.

” J’s” late-term abortion was rushed into a 1 day procedure. She thought she was 20 weeks but turned out to be farther along. Abortion is not safe at any stage, but the farther along, the more complicated and dangerous it becomes to remove the large baby. A baby over 14 weeks must be dismembered mechanically.

Grasping forceps pull the baby’s extremities into the birth canal and the abortionist twists its arms or legs until they break off. This splinters the bone and turns it into a sharp projectile as the abortionist pulls broken limbs down the birth canal which can cause punctures or lacerations which will result in hemorrhaging.

Now mind you, there is 8.8 inches of snow and ice covering the ground and the hired killers are trudging along in a wheel-chair carrying a bag of IV fluids with the butchered woman covered in sheets in the 13 degree weather. You would think if they cared enough, the Hope Clinic would at least hoist this bleeding girl into the back of a Hope(less) employee’s mini-van as they did back in 2001 as the first photographed picture of a botched abortion inside Hope Clinic surfaced on the internet to prove how unsafe legal abortions are, or shove her into a meat-wagon and take her across the street.

Many times we have witnessed bloodied women being hauled across the street, after being butchered inside this abortion mill, to the local first aid station at Gateway Regional Hospital, where after being patched up and put back on the highway, they are no longer the abortionist’s problem. No, they are society’s problem.

Security guards from the hospital and abortion mill escorted the butchered girl back inside this slaughterhouse. “Back alley abortions have not ended, they only cost more and the butcher comes through the front doors.” The guards were asked, “Don’t you care? They are hurting women here.” One commented, “There is the HIPAA law. We can’t do anything to report it.” And the slaughter of women and their babies continues.

Why aren’t emergency room staffers and surgeons reporting these numerous incidents to the health department or Division of Professional Regulation? Crimes against women are going unreported. It’s the “don’t ask, don’t tell policy” in women’s healthcare. How many more women need to be hurt, maimed, sterilized, lying in comas, or worse, killed?

Where is the outcry from feminist organizations? I thought they care about women. And that is how Hope Clinic gets by with it. They don’t care, and they know the public doesn’t care. Who is the watchdog for women’s chop-shops? No one. Not even the Health Department in Illinois is checking them out. A funeral parlor or veterinarian clinic is better regulated.

I think it tells you something when former guards and employees are seeking our ministry out to help expose the mistreatment, unlicensed personnel, and unsafe conditions inside this slaughterhouse. If abortion is legal, it should be safe.

Later that day, we were able to privately speak with the couple after she was discharged. She is very upset with the treatment she received. We told her about the many active lawsuits against Hope Clinic and the awards granted against them. She asked for the legal resources and we complied. We were able to pray with them before they headed back home for the long drive. They promised to stay in touch and keep us updated.

This is just one of the many walking wounded in society that we are dealing with, those who have survived their abortions. Back in 1973, what was once thought to be the cure-all for society’s ills and to empower women has turned out to be a devastating cancer in society. Abortion is the most un-natural act on a woman’s life and her body and we know what it does to the innocent body within. It has a ripple effect on all of those involved. And society is now reaping what we have sown over 36 years ago when this horrible holocaust was unleashed. Abortion leaves two victims: one dead and one wounded.

Psalm 130:7 “Put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with Him is full redemption.”

Abortion proponents told us years ago that legalizing abortion would benefit the health and welfare of American women. It would be an acceptable part of mainstream medical care. They also told us legalized abortion would eliminate the thousands of deaths that abortion advocates claimed were happening in the back alleys. The mythology of back alley abortions has not ended with legalized abortion; it continues behind the sterile facades of fresh paint.

I realize we must sound like a broken record with every reported “botched abortion”, but if this were a puppy mill where little puppies and kittens were being mistreated or mutilated, it would make the evening news and be on the front page of the newspaper. But this should tell you how we care about human life, in the womb or out of the womb.

Do you care? It appears the only ones who care now are the gentle Christian activists who have been showing up on the frontlines every day for over fifteen years outside this slaughterhouse in Granite City, offering real hope and another choice that a mother and a child can live with.

Be encouraged~ Angela

Granite City Pregnancy Center Stands Against False Hope as True Beacon of Hope

Written by Lisa Sergent, Director, Communications & Assist. Editor –Illinois Baptist State Association

Nearly 1.4 million abortions have been performed every year since the United States Supreme Court made abortion legal 35 years ago. Today, there are five clinics in Illinois providing abortions, ending the lives of 46,467 infants in 2006 alone. At least 87 pregnancy care centers are located around the state with the mission of showing women abortion is not the answer.

Granite City, Ill. is home to one of the abortion providers – Hope Clinic, the only clinic in a ten state radius where women can have an abortion up to their 24th week of pregnancy. Its website boasts of performing 6,000 abortions a year. Featured prominently on the website is the clinic’s slogan, “Where there is choice, there is Hope.”

Countering the work of Hope Clinic in Granite City and standing as a true beacon of hope is New Beginnings Pregnancy Care Center. New Beginnings opened 21 years ago and now has additional locations in Fairview Heights and Edwardsville. Last year New Beginnings saw 600 new patients and served 1,300 others. Patients received pregnancy testing; information about abortion (no one is ever referred for an abortion, regardless of the situation), adoption and parenting; ultrasound; physician referrals; and childbirth and parenting classes along with free baby supplies for those who complete the classes. The center is working to offer counseling programs for the men affected by pregnancy and testing for sexually transmitted diseases.

Kathy Sparks, the clinic’s executive director and one of its founders, previously worked in an abortion clinic assisting in performing abortions. After a near divorce and failed suicide attempt, Sparks accepted Christ. Just days later her husband, Mike, accepted Him too. It was after that, while assisting a doctor performing an abortion at 23 weeks, God showed her the truth. Sparks left her job at the abortion clinic.

The idea for New Beginnings Pregnancy Care Center came soon after. “The Lord used Mike and me to begin this ministry,” she said. “There was nothing like it on this side of the river.”

“God crossed our paths with five other believers. That’s been 23 years ago. I’ve been executive director for 21 years. I give God all the glory. I am just a small part of what He does here.”

“The average age of our clients is 18-22,” Sparks said. “Our youngest client was 12 and the oldest was 54.”

Counseling services at the center include a presentation of the Gospel. “The overwhelming majority of our clients will stay and hear the entire thing,” Sparks said. In 2007, 96 percent of their clients heard the Gospel and 11 accepted Christ as their Savior.

Clinic counselors must be Christians and belong to a local church. Counselors receive 21 hours of training plus time spent assisting other counselors until they are deemed ready to counsel on their own. Additional training in evangelism is provided to ensure each can give their own personal testimony.

“Probably half of the women who work in this ministry have had abortions,” noted Sparks. “We work with them to make sure they understand forgiveness and are not atoning for having an abortion.”

Seven years ago, the clinic received its first ultra sound machine. Statistics show the number of abortions drop radically when women receive ultra sounds and are able to see the developing child in the womb. After installing the machine, “We absolutely noticed a difference in the amount of women who would change their mind [about having an abortion],” Sparks said. “We saw client numbers increase and an additional 15 percent of the women decided not to have an abortion.”

The clinic also promotes an abstinence-only program. “Two and a half years ago the Lord stirred my heart to make it bigger and better,” said Sparks. She discovered ReL8, a program developed for public schools that uses biblical principles. “It’s amazing how God has really opened things up to come into the middle and high schools.” The ReL8 program serves a 23 county area in downstate Illinois.

Sparks is dedicated to exposing the truth about abortion and sharing Christ. “My life is the definition of Romans 8:28. My experience working in an abortion clinic has given me the motive and passion to share Christ in a tangible way.”
