Our state lawmakers are introducing new proposals, adding to the 6,000+ bills that were introduced in the first half of the session (2019). IFI’s top concern is stopping the effort to repeal the Parental Notice of Abortion Act. In a recent email, the anti-life Personal PAC told their supporters that their

Although we may disagree with the political philosophy of many of our elected officials, we must not neglect God’s instruction to pray for them (1 Timothy 2:1-3) or ignore the power of prayer to change hearts and minds (Proverbs 21:1; James 5:16).

Responding to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling last month legalizing same-sex marriage, U.S. Representative Raul Labrador (R-ID) has introduced the First Amendment Defense Act (H. R. 2802).
H.R. 2802 protects religious freedom by prohibiting the federal government from punishing churches, charities or private schools for actions in opposition to same-sex marriage.
For example, the government could not revoke the tax exempt status of a church that refuses to perform a same-sex wedding because of their religious beliefs. It could not deny federal grants or contracts to any individual or institution (such as food banks or adoption agencies) that …
U.S. House Will Vote on Legislation to Ban Abortions After 20 Weeks
Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives will hold a vote on or around the anniversary of the murder conviction of late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell on a marquee bill to ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy because unborn children feel intense pain in abortions. This is the second time Republicans have planned a vote on the major pro-life bill — and this vote is expected to take place this week, possibly Wednesday, the anniversary of Gosnell’s conviction.
