Classical Consortium Academy in Winnetka!

We’ve got great news!
Winnetka Bible Church is partnering with Classical Consortium Academy
to provide an exceptional education alternative for North Shore families.

In A.D. 1537, Martin Luther warned, “I am much afraid that schools will prove to be the gates of hell unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures, engraving them in the hearts of youth. I advise no one to place their child where the Scriptures do not reign paramount. Every institution in which men are not increasingly occupied with the word of God must become corrupt.” Sadly, his prophetic words ring true.

Christian education that establishes God as the foundation of all subjects is more critical than ever. Great Christian education partners with parents to help students understand and articulate their faith, provides strong liberal arts instruction using Great Works, and teaches students how to think clearly and argue winsomely.

Classical Consortium Academy (CCA) has served families across northern Illinois with its unique and effective classical, Christian, hybrid school model from its Village Church of Barrington campus for the past seventeen years. With the demand for an educational alternative that aligns with parents’ values increasing, the Lord has opened the door for CCA to launch an east campus at Winnetka Bible Church.

Classical Consortium Academy serves kindergarten through twelfth-grade students. It follows a classical philosophy of education – the educational model that produced the greatest thinkers, leaders, and scientists in the Western world from the time of the Greeks until the late 19th century, including America’s founding fathers. Classical education develops skills that are essential in higher education and throughout life – independent scholarship, critical thinking, logical analysis, and a love for learning.

There are several keys to a Classical Christian education:

  • It is based on the trivium, the three phases of learning (grammar, logic, and rhetoric) in which all children progress.
  • It integrates literature, history, language, art, math, and science.
  • It teaches Latin, formal logic, critical thinking, and classical rhetoric, helping students become great thinkers and communicators.
  • It uses various methods and tools to teach students: chants and songs, debates, Socratic circles, Great Works, writing, and independent learning.
  • Rather than confining Christianity to Bible class, it teaches all subjects through the lens of Scripture. Throughout the curriculum, an intimate association exists between “subject-matter” and “spiritual matters.”

CCA’s hybrid structure provides the perfect blend of the best of school and the best of homeschooling. Students attend CCA one or two days a week and complete their homework the rest of the days of the week under their parents’ supervision. This model makes exceptional Christian education affordable for all families. CCA provides parents the structure and support they need while giving students accountability and flexibility that promotes independent scholarship. Our unique approach gives students the time to read challenging works of literature, think deeply, and write often – developing skills that colleges lament are missing in their students.

We are proud to say that our students are successful by the world’s standards (i.e. high standardized test scores, admission into the colleges and universities they desire, scholarships, success in college and beyond). More importantly, they are successful by God’s standards (i.e. stay faithful followers of Jesus Christ, attend and serve at their churches, become devoted spouses, and godly parents).

We are delighted to make our effective model more accessible to North Shore families. Please visit ClassicalConsortiumAcademy.org to learn more about our unique program and consider joining us for one of our informational meetings at Winnetka Bible Church on Sunday, February 27th at 3:00pm or on Thursday, March 3rd at 7:00pm.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call me at (847) 863-6867 or email me at classicalconsortiumacademy@gmail.com.

I look forward to meeting you soon!

Vending Machine Emergency Contraceptives on College Campuses

College can be one of the most exciting times in a young person’s life. They are leaving home, often for the first time, and venturing off to learn who they might become as adults. It is also a frightening time for both the students and their parents as these young adults test their independence. It is not uncommon to hear about students from loving Christian homes that find themselves in a predicament because they were unprepared to deal with the peer pressures of alcohol, drugs, or sex on the college campus. Despite these students’ stress, the Illinois General Assembly would like to make matters worse by mandating that all public college campuses offer emergency contraception in vending machines.

Sponsored by State Representative Barbara Hernandez (D-Aurora), HB 4247 requires all Illinois public colleges and universities to provide emergency contraceptives in an easily accessed vending machine. Each of the schools would have to provide at least one of the machines somewhere on their campus. Students would not be required to see a physician or obtain a prescription to use the vending machine drugs.

Emergency contraception, sometimes referred to as the morning-after pill, typically comes in two forms: Plan-B, also called Levonorgestrel, progesterone only pill, and EllaOne, which consists of Ulipristal Acetate. Both of these pills are supposed to inhibit ovulation preventing pregnancy. They work for up to 5 days following unprotected sex. However, conception may have already occurred because the medication is not taken until after sexual intercourse. In this case, these pills prevent a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus, meaning the drugs become abortifacients.

The true nature of these pills often goes unadvertised. Many young women have no idea that the drugs may cause an early abortion. By having these pills in a vending machine, young women who might otherwise be pro-life could end up taking a medication that they might otherwise avoid. Not only that, but these vending machines would be readily available to anyone. There would be no need for an examination or a consultation with a physician. What would occur if a young woman had a condition that might be counter-indicated for her to take these pills? For example, there have been indications that Levonorgestrel can interact with some anticonvulsant medications given to people who experience seizures. A young woman on those anticonvulsants may have no idea that she could experience a drug interaction as a result of taking this vending machine pill.

Since a physician would not be involved in dispensing these powerful drugs, there would be no oversight and special instructions given to women as to what to expect. They might not know if they were experiencing an adverse reaction or what constitutes a medical emergency, which sometimes occurs with these medications. These young women might not have a physician they feel they can comfortably reach out to for help if they have questions. These vending machine pharmacies are removing healthcare from the hands of professionals and putting it into the hands of scared inexperienced young women.

The other problem with vending machines is that they can dispense to anyone and circumvents a physicians oversite. What about complications? Sexually transmitted disease? What about the emotional consequences of destroying your own child?

There are other concerns too: What about human traffickers that want to hide their crimes by eliminating pregnancies in their victims? Or what about the young boyfriend who decides to slip the drug to his girlfriend because he isn’t ready to be a father? What is preventing a high school student or even a middle school student from going to that campus to access the vending machine? There are too many possibilities of abuse with vending machine dispensaries, not to mention the atrocities of abortion that occur as a result, to allow such a horrific bill to be passed.

Take ACTION: Click HERE to contact your local state representative to let him/her know that you do not want your tax dollars used to subsidize emergency contraceptives on college campuses. Moreover, it is absolutely foolish to encourage risky sexual behavior in young people.

This bill passed out of the House Higher Education Committee. on February 9, 2022 by a vote of 6 to 4 and is on second reading. If you agree with us that that HB 4247 is dangerous and threatens the well-being of our young people, please contact your state representative.

Kindergartners Forced to March and Chant for “Black Lives Matter”

As part of the highly controversial “Black Lives Matter” week that took place in schools nationwide, tiny kindergarten children in an elite Washington, D.C., indoctrination center were handed BLM signs and ordered to march around the school chanting “Black Lives Matter.” Yes, seriously.

Video evidence of the scandal enlisting children in a racist and Marxist cause first emerged publicly on the school’s Instagram page before being picked up by the popular “Libs of Tik Tok” Twitter account. It was promptly retweeted over 5,000 times as outraged commentators expressed shock and horror over what many described as the abuse of children in the footage.

“The younger, the better, as far as proponents of Marxist theory are concerned,” wrote Elizabeth Stauffer at The Western Journal, one of the national media outlets that picked up the story. “If students are taught compliance now, it increases the likelihood they’ll obediently follow the orders of their leftist masters later in life.”

The Black Lives Matter “Week of Action” focuses on indoctrinating children to reject the nuclear family, private property, Christianity, and even the nation-state. It admits all of this on its websites and programs, bragging about its promotion of “globalism,” the “queer” agenda, and much more.

Despite being bankrolled by many of America’s largest corporations and wealthiest billionaires, all three of the co-founders of the Black Lives Matter movement have boasted publicly of being Marxists. The trio has also publicly revealed their involvement in occult religious practices, witchcraft, necromancy, and other bizarre pagan rituals.

The controversial weaponization and indoctrination of tiny children barely old enough to tie their own shoes took place at Lowell School, an overpriced private school that charges close to $40,000 per year. It boasts of providing “progressive education” and is just as “woke” as any government brainwash camp, except it targets the children of D.C. elites set to be “future leaders” rather than their future victims.

Indeed, the school brags about turning the impressionable children in its care into “social justice” warriors on the “Diversity, Inclusion and Equity” (DIE) section of its website. “Anchored in our history and mission, we believe that the foundations of advocacy begin in childhood and early adolescence,” the school explains in justifying the indoctrination of small children.

Of course, government schools across America are similarly brainwashing children to become unthinking left-wing extremists dedicated to tearing down civilization. In fact, The Newman Report has documented “Black Lives Matter” week abuse of children in public education even in extremely conservative districts from Iowa to South Carolina and everywhere in between.

Just recently, Libs of Tik Tok exposed a government school in Pennsylvania ordering children of European descent to apologize to those with more melanin in their skin. The school also lined children up from “the whitest to the darkest” as part of its racist brainwashing campaign. Similar abuses have been taking place nationwide for years.

The horrific and systemic abuse of children under the guise of “education” is an epidemic in America, and it is destroying the next generation in both public and overpriced private schools. Unless the crisis is dealt with before virtually an entire generation is lost, the nation, its liberties and even civilization itself will not survive much longer.

Politics Influencing Blue States to End Mask Mandates

Conservatives have questioned the legitimacy of masking and the mask mandates since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now it would appear that there are politicians in several Democratic-controlled states who agree with their conservative counterparts. Most will be ending the mandates within the next several weeks. Why they have changed their position is not entirely apparent, but we have an idea.

States that have removed or changed their regulations – the most liberal states in the nation – include California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Nevada, Oregon, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.

Illinois’ Governor JB Pritzker announced that the mask mandate for most public places in Illinois would end February 28th. This policy change does not include schools, health clinics, or public transportation. But school masking may also end in Illinois despite Pritzker’s objections. In a recent court decision, Sangamon County Circuit Court Judge Raylene DeWitte Gricshow ruled to strike down the mask mandate in 150 school districts involved in the suit. Governor Pritzker has asked that the Attorney General to immediately appeal the decision.

Although the governor seemingly refuses to let go of the mandates over schools, he and other Democratic governors are starting to loosen their grip over other COVID regulations.

A recent poll conducted by Monmouth University found that the support for mandated vaccines dropped from 53 percent of those polled to 43 percent, and support for mask mandates dropped from 63 percent to 52 percent. In another poll conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation, findings showed that 70 percent of the Americans polled agreed that “it’s time we accept COVID is here to stay, and we just need to get on with our lives.” It appears that the political climate is no longer accepting the mandates and tyrannical authority that has been exercised within the blue states.

It is also possible that the recent protests worldwide have concerned the politicians. Canada’s Trucker Freedom Convoy protest is protesting mask and vaccine mandates and is closing down bridges, blocking travel, and slowing down the supply chain. The truckers in the United States are planning a similar protest convoy starting in March.

As a result of the polls and convoy protests, politicians are concerned about the upcoming midterm elections and their ability to appeal to the masses who have become weary of COVID and the mandates. However, because “absolute power corrupts absolutely,” it is doubtful that these leftist politicians are willing to give up their power quickly, as is evident in Governor Pritzker’s unwillingness to remove the mandates from school children.

The dismissal of the mandates is also only being done at state levels. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is still unwilling to remove the recommendations, stating that hospitalizations remain high. President Joe Biden is still trying to enforce various mandates. On Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) told host Maria Bartiromo that he would introduce legislation in the U.S. Senate to end President Biden’s Declaration of Emergency and stop the Medicare Vaccine Mandate on healthcare workers. Marshall went on to say that the mandates are “about power, it’s about control.” Politicians rarely give up power and control easily. Therefore, the very fact that Democrat-controlled states are willing to let go of mandates without a fight is very telling. Perhaps they see the writing on the wall.

However, voters must remain persistent in assuring that they are not misled by politicians who want to appear as though they have a conciliatory nature. Leftists may sway less informed voters by convincing them that they are willing to modify mandates.

Take ACTION: Although we should be hopeful that more states will dismiss mask mandates, we should remain vigilant. We must ensure that leftists are not trying to influence elections through policy changes that are only meant to temporarily pacify angry voters. Please call your state and federal representatives and ask them to end the mask mandates in Illinois schools in all districts, also voice your support for ending the federal declaration of emergency and all forced mandates. Continue to stay informed as we approach the midterm elections.

Universal Pre-K Does More Harm than Good

Written by MFC Editor

The Biden administration is continuing its push for “universal” Pre-K, arguing that “the earlier our children begin to learn in school, the better.” President Biden’s spending bill even devotes $200 billion to expanding access to pre-schooling. While universal pre-k sounds beneficial, leading many voters to support the idea, a newly released study shows these programs actually worsen student outcomes.

Researchers at Vanderbilt University recently released a study on Tennessee’s Voluntary Pre-K (TN-VPK) program and its effect on children’s academic success through 6th grade. The long-term study followed 2,990 low-income children and randomly assigned some of them to attend Pre-K.

Students who participated in the TN-VPK program performed worse overall than students who did not. Specifically, from third through sixth grade, students in TN-VPK received lower scores on state assessments than those who were not part of the program. Researchers also noted that TN-VPK participants had lower attendance rates and a higher frequency of expulsions and suspensions. The authors of the study claimed that these findings “are not at odds with findings from other studies of children who experience group care in childhood.”

Further, a higher rate of children who participated in the program also required special education, negating the argument that federally funded pre-k will reduce the amount spent on special-ed interventions later.

Researchers suspect that the negative effects of universal Pre-K are a result of center-based care, which prevents children from exercising the independence they need to develop self-control. Others speculate that these programs place children in rigid academic environments before they are developmentally ready. Either way, it’s clear that children who are placed in universal Pre-K are done a disservice.

Tennessee’s Voluntary Pre-K program is very similar to Biden’s plan for “universal” Pre-K. If President Biden’s plan becomes a reality, the negative outcomes demonstrated in Vanderbilt’s study could become the norm nationwide.

Centralized, government-designed and mandated programs frequently fail the very people they are intended to serve. Parents and local communities are far better equipped to determine the best educational strategies for children in their state, and they should not be restrained by the federal or state government’s well-meaning but ill-informed initiatives.

The president’s proposal to implement federally funded pre-schooling would negatively impact children in every state. As we seek to improve educational options for families, it should be clear that a one-size-fits-all program full of rules created by the Biden administration is not the answer. Instead of funding programs that will harm children, policymakers should consider letting tax dollars follow the child and giving parents the power to make decisions about their children’s education that best fits their needs.

Biden Appalled by Proposed Education Law

Remember when homosexuals told us all they wanted was to be free to do what they wanted in the privacy of their bedrooms? Or perhaps you remember the later incarnation of that whopper, when they said they sought only tolerance. Or perhaps you remember their faux-indignant claims that their sexual peccadilloes affect no one, no way, no how. Or perhaps you remember when they scoffed at the idea that they were “coming for children.” All were a pack of lies from those practiced at the art of deception.

Further proof that they lied comes from sunny Florida where leftists are apoplectic about an important bill (HB 1557) designed to protect parental rights and to curb the use of taxpayer-funded elementary schools for the purposes of promoting leftist beliefs about “sexual orientation” and “gender identity.”

The section of the bill that has President-in-name-only Joe Biden and his snarky mouthpiece Jen Psaki undone is this:

A school district may not encourage classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in primary grade levels or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students. (emphasis added)

If Biden’s opposed to it, it’s got to be good.

Biden took time away from his nap to wax foolish about the bill:

I want every member of the LGBTQI+ community—especially the kids who will be impacted by this hateful bill to know that you are loved and accepted just as you are. I have your back, and my Administration will continue to fight for the protections and safety you deserve.

First, let’s go back to basics. What are homosexuality and cross-sex identification? What constitutes those conditions or phenomena?

Both are constituted by subjective feelings and volitional behaviors related to erotic desires and biological sex. And both are conditions about which there are diverse beliefs regarding morality. Public school employees in their professional roles have no business promoting, honoring, or “privileging” one set of beliefs about homosexuality and cross-sex behaviors or disparaging others.

Second, loving and accepting kids does not require affirming everything they feel, believe, think, desire, or do. Loving and accepting persons does not require such affirmation even if the beliefs and desires are thought to be central to their identities.

Do leftists believe that in order to love theologically orthodox kids, they–that is leftists–must affirm all their feelings, beliefs, and actions? What about students who claim their authentic selves are polyamorists, consanginamorists, or kinksters? Do leftists believe safety requires teachers to affirm theologically orthodox Christianity, polyamory, close kin love, or kink? Would it be hateful to prohibit discussions of these identities in elementary schools?

Leftists try to evade such evidence of their hypocrisy by claiming that, unlike homosexuality and transness, that polyamory, consanginamory, and kink are not authentic identities. But who are they to decide what constitutes an authentic identity?

Chasten Buttigieg, the “husband”-by-law-only of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, recently tweeted this revelatory bit of demagoguery:

This will kill kids, @RonDeSantisFL. Your are purposefully making your state a harder place for LGBTQ kids to survive in. In a national survey (@TrevorProject), 42% of LGBTQ youth seriously considered attempting suicide last year. Now they can’t talk to their teachers?

Really? Prohibiting discussions of homosexuality and cross-dressing in school “will kill kids”? Where’s his evidence-based, conclusive proof of that outlandish claim?

This is a tacit admission of what conservatives have long been claiming. Leftist teachers are engaging in inappropriate conversations with students on controversial topics that they were not hired to teach and that are far beyond their pay grade. Further, they are often undermining the values, beliefs, and principles that parents are struggling against the cultural tsunami to instill in their children.

A few words about the biased Trevor Project are in order. In addition to the statistic about seriously considering attempting suicide, the Trevor Project reported that,

72% of LGBTQ youth reported symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder in the past two weeks, including more than 3 in 4 transgender and nonbinary youth. 62% of LGBTQ youth reported symptoms of major depressive disorder in the past two weeks, including more than 2 in 3 of transgender and nonbinary youth.

Leftists want Americans to believe that conservative bigotry and hatred cause the high rates of anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation among homosexual and “trans” youth, but is that true? Or is it possible that disordered sexual desires are a symptom of other underlying issues?

As conservatism and theologically orthodox Christianity become increasingly hated by American society, do leftists expect the rates of suicidal ideation, anxiety, and depression to rise in those cohorts?

CNN responded to the proposed bill’s reference to age and developmental appropriateness by saying,

It is not clear what would be considered “age” or “developmentally” appropriate.

I can’t remember any leftist or leftist organization expressing that concern when leftists continually assert that anything they want to teach about sexuality, “sexual orientation,” or “gender identity” is “age” and “developmentally appropriate.”

Because leftists claim that everything they want to teach is appropriate, I have repeatedly urged parents to ask their school administration for the criteria used to determine age and developmental appropriateness and to find out exactly who established those criteria.

Jen Psaki made this irony-dripping statement:

Across the country, we’re seeing Republican leaders take actions to regulate what students can or cannot read, what they can or cannot learn, and most troubling, who they can or cannot be. … This is politics at its worse, cynically using our students as pawns in political warfare.”

Amazing. When parents finally oppose the decisions of leftist teachers to present obscene and sexually graphic material, leftists accuse those parents of trying to “regulate” what students can or cannot read. We can’t have parents objecting to the regulatory actions of leftist teachers, now can we–not even if those teachers are choosing material so obscene it can’t be read at school board meetings or appear in newspapers.

Oddly, the White House didn’t mention the fact that leftist teachers censor material all the time when they choose not to teach resources that dissent from leftist beliefs on sexuality. That’s not censorship, leftists claim, that’s not “regulating what students can and cannot read.” No siree, that’s responsible “text selection” from self-identifying “experts.”

If the White House is deeply concerned about efforts to control what students “can or cannot learn,” the Biden administration might want to look into how often students are asked to study resources that critique “trans”-cultic beliefs and practices or critical race theory.

The award for the most “cynical” use of students as “pawns in political warfare” has to go to Democrats/ “progressives” who have been using school curricula, professional development, and policy for decades to advance arguable leftist beliefs about sex, race, and history. There’s no contest. Republicans are like the girl swimmers at Penn. Democrats are like that cheater and exploiter, the behemoth “Lia” Thomas.

Enquiring minds want to know how prohibiting discussions of controversial topics related to sexuality in elementary schools constitutes telling 5-12 year-olds who “they can or cannot be”? How does not telling them anything about who they can be or not be become telling them who they can or cannot be?

NBC News also shared the views of activist Jennifer Solomon, who agitates for all things sexually deviant:

Solomon said her 11-year-old son, Cooper, who identifies as male and has “never wanted to be a girl,” … prefers to wear his school’s girls uniform and enjoys dressing up like a fairytale princess for fun. … “There could be a family just like mine that is going to have to go back in the closet. … They’re going to have to tell their child, ‘I’m sorry, you can dress the way you want to at home, but you have no protections at school, and so you can’t be your authentic self all of the time.’ That’s very damaging to a child.”

That’s quite a loaded hypothetical statement Solomon constructed to explain to a young child why he can’t cross-dress at school. Would a parent have to say, “you have no protections at school, and so you can’t be your authentic self all of the time”?

Is it “very damaging” to a boy to be told that he can’t wear girls’ uniforms or princess gowns to school? Does Solomon have proof for that claim? And how does she define “very damaging”? Does Solomon mean that a child feels frustrated, disappointed, angry, or sad about having their desires thwarted?

Cooper’s mother has been actively supporting his cross-dressing since he was three years old. By the time he was seven, Jennifer was a full-time activist, arranging with schools to read pro-“trans” picture books to young children and to bring in other speakers from the “LGBTQ” community to proselytize children.

Solomon’s opinions raise some questions. Is social transitioning, which includes cross-dressing, good for young children? Conversely, might it be damaging to other children in elementary school to see male peers cross-dressing? Might that be confusing and upsetting to them?

And are the claims of the “trans” cult based on inarguable, objective truths, or are they based on subjective, arguable assumptions?

People like Jennifer Solomon and other opponents of the Florida bill insist on children being allowed to cross-dress at school, use bathrooms and locker rooms with peers of the opposite sex, and play on opposite-sex sports teams. But that’s not all they demand. They also insist that class time and resources be used to promote one set of assumptions on “gender identity,” starting in kindergarten and that all dissenting views be censored because they might make some students feel uncomfortable–er, I mean, “unsafe.”

No, homosexuals, cross-dressers, and their collaborators don’t seek to be left alone or tolerated. They always knew their revolutionary social and political efforts would affect everyone in countless ways. They always were coming for the hearts, minds, and bodies of children. They are nothing if not deceivers and exploiters. A tad more righteous anger about their deception and the harm it’s doing to children, families, schools, and society is in order.

After School Satanist Clubs Allowed in Elementary Schools?

After-school clubs for elementary school children have become prevalent throughout the United States in the last few decades. As more families have either two working parents or, too often, a single working parent, the need for supervised care at the end of the school day has become essential. Although after-school care is vital to these families, we must ask who runs these programs? In two Midwest elementary schools, the answer is unnerving. The Satanic Temple has started an after-school program, and its pilot schools are in Ohio and Illinois.

The After School Satan Club at Jane Addams Elementary in the Moline-Coal Valley School District of Moline, Illinois has garnered national attention. However, it is not the only elementary school with this program. A Satanic Temple After School Club also operates in Lebanon, Ohio, at Donovan Elementary School, a part of the Lebanon City Schools.

School districts nationwide provide space to organizations, typically for a small rental fee. Initially, schools tried to control which groups utilized their facilities for after-school programming. However, after Milford Central School in Milford, New York prevented the Christian group, Good News Club, access based on their religious beliefs, the group filed a lawsuit against the school. The case went to the U.S. Supreme Court. Good News Club v. Milford Central School District was decided in 2001 in a 6-3 decision that states that schools that offer their facilities to groups after hours cannot deny any group based on religion under the 1st Amendment. Although this decision was intended to protect Christian groups, the Satanists are now using it to their benefit. Consequently, school districts cannot ban the Satanists unless they ban all after-school groups.

The Satanic Temple is based out of Salem, Massachusetts and has several chapters across the country. They are determined to provide an after-school program and it appears they intend to spread it nationwide. Their original program started in 2016-17 in Utah, Washington, and Oregon. This program was put on hiatus when schools closed due to COVID-19. Now that schools are reopening, the Satanists have reorganized and relaunched the new program in two Illinois and Ohio elementary schools, leaving parents outraged with their school districts.

Both the Campaign Director, June Everett, and the Co-founder of the Satanic Temple, Lucien Greaves, claim that the program is not teaching children Satanism. However, it is undoubtedly a program intended to oppose Christianity. The group openly states that the clubs are placed in schools with another after-school program, Good News Club.

Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF), founded by Jesse Irvin Overholtzer in 1937 in Warrenton, Missouri, started Good News Club. The group states they are “a Bible-centered organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living.” Good News Club is just one of the ways CEF spreads the Gospel to children.

The Satanic Temple is offended by the Gospel and opposes the love of Jesus Christ being presented to children. Lucien Greaves states that by creating the After School Satan Club, they can provide an alternative to religious clubs and prevent “horrific indoctrination.”

Ironically, Satanists claim that Christianity is indoctrination when it is evident that their own group is actively trying to indoctrinate children against religion in general and Christianity specifically. They claim they want to be upfront with who they are, hence why the group uses Satan in their name. However, the group is not upfront about their intended goal to eliminate the Christian faith and create an atmosphere that encourages children to denounce their parents’ beliefs.

We at Illinois Family Institute encourage families to get their children out of government-run schools. Organizations such as the After School Satan Club are just one of the groups that are trying to sway your children to leave behind Christian values and their religious faith – with the insidious goal of destroying family relationships. However, we also recognize that not every family is led by Christian parents. Not all families can or are willing to pull their children from government-run schools. For this very reason, we must continue to support groups like Good News Club. For some children, these groups might be their only opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus.

Take ACTION: If you are concerned about the After School Satanist Club, you can contact your local school board and find out about their after-school clubs and their equal access policy. Churches can start their own after-school programs in your local school. You can also find out more about Good News Club by clicking HERE.  Continue to pray for our schools, our children, and the families that depend on after-school programs.

Good Enough for Your Children (But Not Theirs)

Sexual Abuse of Children in Public Schools

In an excellent essay by journalist, Alex Newman published on January 5, 2022, entitled, Illinois Public Schools Battle Plague of Violence, Sexual Abuse, the author points out the deplorable scandal of children being physically and sexually abused in Illinois’ public schools. Another similar article ran on January 14, 2022.

The sexual abuse of children has been happening in Chicago’s public schools for years. Consider the Chicago Public School scandal that was exposed by the Chicago Tribune and others in August 2018. There were thousands of reports of sexual harassment (including many sexual assaults against children by school staff), in just one school year, in one city! Not only were there thousands of reports made to the Department of Child & Family Services (DCFS) of students suffering sexual harassment and abuse from other students and school faculty, during school hours, on public school property, but it was revealed DCFS didn’t even follow up on most of the reports (claiming they were understaffed and underfunded).

That certainly does not fit the narrative the media wants parents to believe: That public schools are safe havens against all child abuse. In fact, liberals often suggest that homeschooled students are at serious risk for abuse because they have no public school officials to watch over them and keep them safe.

They use this argument despite conclusive research that demonstrates that (1) there is absolutely no connection between the degree of state regulation of homeschooling and abuse of children, AND (2) the fact that students who are homeschooled are actually 257% LESS likely to be sexually abused than students who are in public schools! It truly baffles the mind that people want more regulation of homeschooling when it neither improves academic performance nor provides any additional protection for students.

According to the Chicago Tribune:

“The report describes how understaffed and underfunded CPS investigators struggled to process reports of potential sexual harassment, notifications sent to the Department of Children and Family Services, employee misconduct allegations and altercations between students and staff – thousands of reports during the 2016-17 school year alone.”

If we are to suppose this is the true state of DCFS, it would be the height of lunacy to suggest, as some liberal lawmakers have, that there should be mandatory home visits for all children who are not in a brick-and-mortar school to ensure they are not being abused. And suppose the state happened to find a situation here or there where some sort of abuse was occurring; what remedy would they seek? Sending them to a brick and mortar public school where abuse rates are the highest of all! These witch hunts against parents simply seek to deflect attention away from the greatest source of child sexual abuse, the public schools themselves, and divert resources from investigating the public schools where the majority of the physical and sexual abuse of these children is taking place.

When lawmakers and members of the media make these arguments, they reveal their bias: That parents cannot be trusted and government employees can. There are absolutely zero studies that support such a statist notion. To be clear, we are against all forms of child abuse and condemn it whenever and wherever it occurs. Sadly, abuse of children happens in every single sector of society, without exception. If anyone, including a parent, is truly abusing a child they should be prosecuted by the perfectly adequate child abuse laws that already exist in every state in America. No one should ever cover for abuse or seek to conceal it but should instead expose it. The problem is the exploitation of children is taking place every day (at a higher rate than almost any other sector in society) on government school campuses and it is being hidden by these very institutions who claim to care about and protect children the most. A November 19, 2019 article in Chalkbeat Chicago announced:

“Twelve employees and a volunteer at a school in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood had inappropriate relationships with students — including sexual abuse — or helped cover up that misconduct in a years-long ‘stunning’ and ‘colossal failure,’ Chicago Public Schools’ CEO announced Friday.”

That doesn’t even include the sexual perversion they are teaching children in the classroom through sex ed programs and even pipe virtually into homes through distance learning programs.

Many Public-School Teachers Send their Own Children to Private Schools

Here’s the dirty little secret liberals don’t want you to know. Those who shout the loudest for public schools often secretly avoid them. Consider that Barak Obama, when he lived in Chicago, sent his daughters to the elite University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. Likewise, Rahm Emmanuel also enrolled his son and two daughters in the U of C Lab Schools. Jesse Jackson (a supposed advocate of Chicago Public Schools) sent his sons, Jesse and Jonathan, out of the city of Chicago (out of the state actually!) to a prestigious boarding school called LeMans Academy in LaPorte, IN during their middle school years. And another boys’ boarding school in Washington, DC for high school.

Chicago’s first lesbian mayor, Lori Lightfoot, while pushing for Chicago residents to send their children to physical schools in the city, personally sends her adopted daughter, Vivian to Frances Xavier Warde Catholic Cathedral School.

This is true for many politicians. According to a survey by the Heritage Foundation:

“40 percent of those in the U.S. House of Representatives who have school-aged children, and 49 percent of those in the Senate who have school-aged children, send or have sent at least one of their children to private school.”

Only 11% of American students have traditionally attended private schools (and only 5% of black students). But one study revealed whopping 46% of all public school teachers in Chicago have sent their own children to private schools, and refused to send them to the very schools where they themselves teach! Why is this? They know better. They work there every day and unlike the naïve parents who close their eyes and choose to ignore the facts, hoping it will all work out okay, these teachers know what actually happens each day in the school. There is no way they want their own children exposed to that kind risk.

Now don’t get me wrong, I applaud them for making a better choice for their own children. However, I can’t applaud the hypocrisy of those who keep telling the average citizens to keep their children in the government schools. Honestly, would you eat at a restaurant where the employees refuse to eat? It’s time for anyone who cares about their children to perform a mass exodus and get their children out of these cesspools.

Chicago’s Morning Answer Airs Shocking Content

WARNING: Contains graphic sexual material which is taught to students!
Yes, students at New Trier HS and other government schools
are teaching sexual deviancy, compliments of your high property taxes.

During their morning radio program on Thursday, hosts Dan Proft and Amy Jacobson aired a segment in which they exposed how government school officials are corrupting the minds, bodies and souls of impressionable young people. In this 18-minute segment, they give several examples of just how depraved the educational institutions–where you place your children to be “educated” 30+ hours a week–have become. What they share is shocking but not at all unusual.

Dan and Amy read directly from books found in New Trier High School classes, one of which is required reading for an Honors English class. The next time you look at your property tax bill, know that it is helping to pay for pornography in your local government schools

CAUTION: Viewer Discretion Advised

Children who attend government schools are methodically being sexualized and taught to embrace false leftist ideas about sexuality. There is a battle raging for the hearts and minds of children. Parents and grandparents, please consider alternative education options over government schools. Click HERE, HERE or HERE to learn more.

1619 Project Author Gets Historical Facts Wrong

Nikole Hannah-Jones is the New York Times Magazine reporter who wrote the 1619 Project which is being used in many schools across the country. The 1619 Project postulates that America began in 1619, when the first black slaves were brought here—not 1776, when the founders declared independence.

Hannah-Jones made an historical faux pas in a tweet the other day, in which she said that the U.S. Civil War began in 1865. She later apologized, claiming that her tweet was just “poorly worded.” She said she knows the conflict that ultimately ended slavery in America began in 1861 and ended in 1865.

We all make mistakes, but I can’t help but feel her historical error reveals her lack of a true grasp of our history. We’re all entitled to our own opinions, but we’re not entitled to our own facts.

Hannah-Jones coincidentally doesn’t have a firm grasp on the concept of parental rights, either. She recently told Chuck Todd on NBC’s “Meet the Press”: “I don’t really understand this idea that parents should decide what’s being taught. I’m not a professional educator. I don’t have a degree in social studies or science….I think we should leave that to the educators.”

Gary Bauer, former Under Secretary of Education for President Reagan, reacts to her remarks: “She admits that she’s not a professional educator. She’s right about that. She’s a professional left-wing agitator.”

Bauer adds, “Parents, policymakers and state legislators are right to ban the 1619 Project. It’s garbage! Numerous professional historians have thoroughly debunked it. It has no business in our schools. But she thinks banning her radical screed is a sign of oppression.”

Dr. Carol M. Swain is a prominent black scholar who has taught at Vanderbilt Law School and at Princeton. I spoke with her on my radio show about the ongoing battle over American history.

She told me the 1619 Project presents a “revisionist history. [It postulates that] the country is racist to the core. Black people built the country. Racism defines who we are as a nation.” Swain would remind us: “When slavery was introduced into America, we were British colonists.”

When I asked her about the idea of America being “systemically racist” today, she said that the passage of the Civil Rights laws in the 1960s, “really ended systemic racism under the law. And any racism that continues is not because of our national structure.”

It pains her to see the distortion of our history which is propagandizing whole new generations against America. She said, “I care about America. And I care about race relations, and anything [the Left] pushes takes us backwards.”

Swain also notes that this America-is-and-always-was-racist message has a “crippling” effect to underprivileged children because “they give up before they ever get started.” What a tragedy.

Nonetheless, the “historian” peddling this false narrative of American history is feted today by the left. Fox News notes that Hannah-Jones “was named to TIME’s list of the ‘100 most influential people’ in 2021.” That is scary since she peddles this false narrative that America began because of slavery.

America became America despite the evil practice of slavery. The American founders created the framework whereby slavery could one day be uprooted. And it was—at the cost of about 700,000 lives.

Civil rights leader Bob Woodson of the Woodson Center created the group 1776 Unites, which aims to address our history in an accurate way. He has recently compiled a book entitled, Red, White, and Black: Rescuing American History from Revisionists and Race Hustlers.

I’ve interviewed Woodson on a couple of occasions. He told me in reference to the 1619 Project, “There are all kinds of historical inaccuracies. We at the Woodson center organized 23-plus scholars and activists to confront this 1619. We called ourselves the 1776 Unites.” Many of these scholars are African-American.

There is a battle over history today. But there are a few historical resources that I would point people to. I have a set of The Annals of America, which is a series of volumes put together by the Encyclopedia Britannica in 1976. The first three volumes in this 20-or so book set focus on the settling and the founding eras of America. It provides the text (and context) of the leading documents in American history. God and the Christian faith can be found all over in many of these original sources.

Meanwhile, Yale University has put such key documents on-line as part of their Avalon Project. This is much more trustworthy—since it’s the original sources—than revisionist claptrap sold to us today by the likes of Nikole Hannah-Jones.

There’s a battle over history in our time. And this battle has big implications as to what our nation was, is, and ever will be.

Free Tampons in Lake Forest Middle School Boys’ Bathrooms

If you need evidence that Illinois lawmakers have plumbed the depth of idiocy and that public schools are no longer fit places for boys or girls, look no further than Deerpath Middle School in the North Shore’s tony suburb of Lake Forest where the boys’ bathrooms are now equipped with free feminine hygiene products. And folks, you paid for them.

What’s worse, leftist lawmakers concocted the bill that Governor J. B. Pritzker signed into law that requires every boys’ bathroom in every Illinois public school that serves grades 4 on up to provide free feminine hygiene products—at taxpayer expense. This insult to decency, science, common sense, and stewardship of public money is an expensive sop to the “trans” cult before whom the left grovels.

Because leftists have no fixed moral compass and, therefore, no timeless principles to which they remain tethered, feelings, nothing more than feelings are their polestar. But not everyone’s feelings matter. Only the feelings of those whose sexual identity and sexual drive are disordered, anarchical, and subversive matter.

And that’s why hardworking Illinoisans now pay to provide free tampons and sanitary pads in all boys’ bathrooms in all elementary, middle, and high schools in Illinois.

Boys who attend Deerpath Middle School, which serves children in fifth through eighth grade, recently reacted as anyone over the age of eight would expect them to respond to such idiocy. They “used” sanitary pads and tampons in the only way young boys can, sticking pads hither and thither, and performing science experiments on the absorption capacity of tampons.

Since many leftist re-educators/change agents heartily endorse student activism, they should be pleased with this student protest of adult inanity. Give those boys an A for activism, effort, creativity, and wisdom. Okay, fine, deduct a point for mischief: A-.

Putting feminine products in all boys’ bathrooms in Illinois public schools is not merely a colossal waste of money. The far greater problems are that such a venture depends on prior acceptance of “trans”-cultic assumptions, and that it promulgates those assumptions.

This bathroom practice depends on accepting the leftist understanding of “gender identity” as true and accepting that dissenting beliefs are false.

This bathroom practice depends on accepting the idea that a girl’s subjective belief that she is a boy trapped in a girl’s body should determine bathroom usage rather than her biological sex determining bathroom usage.

This practice depends on accepting the belief that feelings of modesty and the desire for privacy when engaged in private bodily functions has no inherent and necessary connection to sexed bodies.

Moreover, this revolutionary practice now teaches every child in Deerpath Middle School that the preceding “trans” cultic assumptions are true and endorsed by the school.

This practice teaches that biological sex has no meaning relative to privacy.

It teaches that to be just and compassionate, boys (and girls) must relinquish their privacy. They must be willing to share bathrooms with persons of the opposite sex.

Parents and other taxpayers should not be surprised at this partisan-driven waste of scarce tax dollars. IFI warned about this idiotic bill when it was proposed and when it passed, and IFI even provided a peek at the risible “floor debate” prior to the bill’s passage.

Why weren’t there massive protests in Springfield when this law was first proposed? Why weren’t there massive protests when a bill was proposed mandating that schools teach age-inappropriate “comprehensive sex ed” starting in kindergarten? Why weren’t there massive protests when lawmakers proposed the law mandating that schools promote ideas derived from “gender” theory starting in kindergarten?

Where are the courageous, principled school leaders willing to say, “No, we will not sexually integrate the private spaces of children and teens”? “We will not introduce socially constructed, leftist ‘gender’ theory to children and teens or implement policies based on such an arguable theory. We will not sexually integrate single-sex sports. We will not force our teachers to refer to students by pronouns that do not correspond to biological sex, and we will not force teachers to ask students for their pronouns. Rather, teachers will be required to use pronouns that correspond to biological reality.”

And where are the school boards that will stand behind such principled positions? If a district in as wealthy a community as Lake Forest will not stand for truth and be willing to risk the lawsuits that Lambda Legal and the ACLU will surely bring, then there are no limits to what our sanctimonious, presumptuous leftist activists in Springfield will do.

Illinois Public Schools Battle Plague of Violence, Sexual Abuse

Lawmakers and union bosses are increasingly speaking out against the violence and rampant sexual abuse that plagues children in government schools across Illinois and beyond. Laws have even been proposed and passed to supposedly deal with the escalating crisis.

However, nothing is being done to address the root causes of the problem: godlessness, hopelessness, and the lack of accountability for students and adults, all of which permeate government-controlled “education” today.

Consider the gravity of the situation. At one government school in Chicago, a dozen staff members had to be removed for what were described by the district as “inappropriate adult relationships with students,” as well as for helping cover it up.

The scandal, which included adults grooming and even having sex with children, sparked national news in November. Incredibly, while the district fired most of those involved and is seeking to pull their teaching licenses, it does not appear that prosecutors were called in due to supposed loopholes in the law.

But the sexualization and abuse of children is also nothing new. According to a 2018 Chicago Tribune investigation, police investigated more than 520 juvenile sexual assault and abuse cases in the city’s government schools over a 10-year period. Hundreds of students were victimized and even raped by teachers and school employees. The stories are heart-wrenching.

In response to the horror, last month, Gov. JB Pritzker signed “Faith’s Law” (HB 1975) into law expanding the definition of “grooming” and adding protections for children against predators in schools. The measure was named after Faith Colson, who was sexually abused by a teacher 20 years ago in Schaumburg, Illinois.

“Students deserve to be safe in their classrooms, period,” declared the far-left governor, who has been a major advocate of sexualizing children in schools. “Anything short of that is a call to action and Faith’s Law is another critical step in creating and preserving safe and welcoming learning environments for all students.”

But of course, with Pritzker’s full support, government schools in Illinois are literally grooming and sexualizing students right now in the same way pedophiles do, as former teacher and celebrated activist Rebecca Friedrichs explained in a piece for the Washington Times.

From exposing children to graphic sex materials and perversion to breaking down taboos and modesty under the guise of “comprehensive sex education,” children across the state and beyond are being put in great danger by the hyper-sexualized so-called “education” being foisted on them by government “educators.”

Even two decades ago, the U.S. Department of Education reported that as many as 10 percent of children in government schools would be sexually abused by employees of the system before graduation.

“The physical sexual abuse of students in schools is likely more than 100 times the abuse by [Catholic] priests,” Hofstra University researcher Charol Shakeshaft, who researched the issue, was quoted as saying by CBS about the problem.

Violence in Illinois government schools is out of control, too. It got so bad that in 2019, the legislature felt compelled to pass a law known as the School Threat Assessment Bill (HB 1561). The measure required schools to develop threat assessment teams, protocols, and more.

But it obviously has not worked, with lawmakers and union leaders demanding more action to enforce compliance and protect students from violence. State Representatives Fred Crespo (D-Streamwood) and Tony McCombie (R-Sterling) are now co-sponsoring legislation to beef up the 2019 law.

“We hear every day more stories, unfortunately, about incidences in our schools and we need to keep our kids safe, we need to keep our teachers safe, and hopefully this will be a pro-active movement that we can do just that,” said Rep. McCombie about the bill.

Illinois Education Association (IEA) President Kathi Griffin, who is backing the legislative action, spoke out as well.  “Violence is increasing in our schools across the state,” she said in a statement last month. “Our educators should not have to constantly worry about their safety and the safety of their students.”

“This is not their problem to solve. They’re under enough stress already,” continued Griffin in her remarks urging school districts to obey school safety laws. “School administrators need to take immediate action to keep our students, staff and communities safe.”

Meanwhile, as shown by government data highlighted by the Illinois Family Institute, government schools are destroying children academically, too. Less than a third of 8th-grade students are proficient in any core subject, the latest National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP) revealed.

In short, countless children in government schools are being sexually abused and brutalized by adults and fellow students — even as they suffer academically — while government passes meaningless laws pretending to address the symptoms of the horrific problem.

Of course, the real reason that children in government schools are facing more and more violence, dumbing down and sexual exploitation by adults is that the environment is corrupt to the core — by design. It is the fruit of removing God and biblical morality from education as part of an evil agenda.

Once one understands that the goals of the architects of the government system were never to provide a sound education, true solutions such as an exodus from public schools and defunding the corrupt system can grow. That is already starting to happen, but much more urgency is needed.

Educators Called Out For ‘Ideological Grooming’ of Student (AFR)

The Open-Mindedness of Leftist Propagandists

The Facebook Overlords have finally released me from yet another 30-day prison sentence for expressing views “progressives” don’t like. You know who I’m talking about. “Progressives” are those freedom-loving tyrants who proclaim from their high horses how deeply they honor all voices and value diversity; how tolerant, unbiased, and respectful they are; how open-minded they are; and how much they loathe oppression and “othering” as they oppress and “other” conservatives.

“Progressives” are the moral midgets who are destroying America while self-identifying as the world’s saviors. They are transaviors. They enslave and call it liberation. They hate and call it love. They kill and call it health. They propagandize and groom, and call it education. They exclude and call it inclusion. They divide and call it unity. They produce evil and call it good.

In the 21st Century virtual public square, transaviors decide which views ought not be tolerated based on their beliefs about love, reality, and truth, while censoring the expression of all dissenting views. They shriek against shaming and bullying while ridiculing dissenters.

They destroy the hearts, minds, bodies, and families of children, and then sashay away wearing their pussy hats and glittery rainbow blinders to their splintered, hedonistic, artificially lit non-homes to self-pleasure and ingest soma, content knowing that Big Brother will finish what they started.

Transaviors include presumptuous change agents like Kelly Baraki and Lori Caldeira, two propagandists who self-identify as teachers at Buena Vista Middle School in Salinas, California. They are the predatorial “teachers” whose goal is to use their publicly funded positions of power to recruit vulnerable students into the boundary-free world of disordered sexuality. Abigail Shrier broke the story a month ago, which generated a firestorm that spread across the nation.

The deepest desire of Baraki’s and Caldeira’s dark hearts is to ideologically groom other people’s children through membership in an “LGBTQA+” school club with the intentionally obscurantist name “You Be You.” Until Shrier’s exposé, Baraki and Caldeira’s tactics included secretly monitoring students’ Google searches to identify their prey and developing ever more cunning ways to conceal children’s club membership from parents.

But Baraki and Caldeira weren’t satisfied with merely ideologically grooming other people’s children with the debatable beliefs of homosexuals, cross-sex impersonators, and collaborators (euphemistically called “allies”). They also secretly facilitated the decision of a vulnerable 12-year-old girl to identify as “transfluid.”

Baraki and Caldeira’s efforts are evil, and they have no right to be involved with children.

Sarah Rubin, editor of the Monterey Weekly, has a close-minded take on the community uproar over Baraki and Caldeira:

If this were a chess club or a gardening club, it would be a non-issue. The instructor would be reprimanded for violating school policies, but no public outcry or chain of conservative media coverage would’ve followed. They’re responding to an underlying fear that exposure to LGBTQ+ awareness is somehow changing kids.

It might be making their kids more open-minded. But LGBTQ+ people have been here and will continue to be here. And a new generation of kids is growing up much more open-minded about gender and sexuality than my generation did. Instead of telling them to shut up, we might learn something by listening.

Here’s something on which everyone can agree: Chess and gardening clubs are non-issues. Surely, Rubin can understand why that is. Unlike homoeroticism and cross-dressing, chess and gardening do not touch on morality, epistemology, ontology, teleology, theology, or psychology.

Rubin is correct. Parents are concerned that “exposure to LGBTQ+” propaganda—not “awareness”—will change kids. Using yet more euphemistic language, Rubin admits such “awareness” is changing kids. She admits it “might be making” other people’s kids “more open-minded.” By “open-minded,” Rubin means their minds have been changed. Their minds have been “trans”-formed by transaviors.

The minds of children indoctrinated with leftist assumptions about sexuality are being closed tightly to the beliefs that homoerotic acts, cross-dressing, cross-sex hormone doping, and lopping off healthy breasts and penises are unhealthy and morally wrong acts. Relentless advocacy of leftist beliefs has closed the minds of children to the ideas that all forms of love are not the same, that marriage has an intrinsic nature that laws cannot change, and that children deserve a mother and a father—ideally their own biological mother and father.

Just curious, is Rubin any more open-minded to conservative views of sexuality than conservatives are to leftist views?

Who is telling kids to “shut up”? What I hear is parents telling leftist change-agents—adults—in government schools to shut up. Parents and other taxpayers are telling them to stop promoting their moral claims and metaphysical theories about “gender” and “gender identity” to children. They’re telling leftist activists to stop basing policies and practices on bathroom usage and sports participation on arguable theories. They’re telling leftist activists who pretend to teach to stop usurping parental authority and undermining parents’ beliefs. They’re telling them to stop exposing minors to obscene material. And they’re telling them that sound educational content and practices should not be shaped by the disordered feelings of immature children and teens.

Rubin concludes with yet more sophistry:

My hope is that there are also voices from parents who want to advocate for inclusion. As Jacob Agamao, LGBTQ+ services coordinator for The Epicenter in Salinas puts it: “We hear it all the time: ‘Won’t somebody think of the children?’ But please, won’t somebody think of the children?”

What precisely does Rubin mean by “inclusion”? She means that leftist views of sexuality must be systemically embraced, affirmed, and implemented in curricula, policies, and practices, which necessarily excludes any child who rejects them.

It may surprise Rubin to know that many conservatives think about children unceasingly. They think about the children whose minds are being malformed, innocence stolen, hearts broken, and bodies poisoned.

Smidge of Hope on the Education Horizon

For those who for years have been battling critical race theory-infused and sexually deviant material in public schools with little help from their friends, recent developments offer a smidge of hope.

I began opposing both types of resources in about 2005 when I was a member of the highly partisan English Department at District 113’s Deerfield High School on Chicago’s North Shore. At that time, my opposition and warnings fell on deaf ears—well, except for the propagandists. Theirs were hostile ears—very hostile.

Teachers in District 113 were pushing CRT-tainted content in the classroom and in what is loosely called “professional” development. Teachers who claimed to “honor all voices” and “value diversity” were pushing leftist assumptions about sexuality while censoring all dissenting voices in the classroom. They hoped that the voices of conservative parents had been effectively silenced. They were largely right. And now District 113 has wasted taxpayer money to put tampon machines in boys’ bathrooms. That’s what happens when we allow bullying and fear to paralyze us.

Racism and disordered sexuality eagerly promoted by leftist change-agents in government schools are destroying the hearts, minds, and bodies of children; the integrity and safety of families; and all institutions of public life that previously protected order and liberty.

But leftist efforts to unleash chaos by appealing to the most selfish, dark, and ignorant desires of deceitful and desperately wicked human hearts through propaganda and tyranny have awakened the consciences of Americans.

Americans now see what leftists are doing. Americans see that leftists are fostering racism to divide and conquer. Americans see the grifters scamming Americans by creating the illusion that America is awash in racial bigotry and then swooping in to sell their snake-oil to the gullible and intimidated.

Americans of color see their children being taught the lie that they are oppressed victims with no agency in their own lives. Colorless Americans see their children being taught the lie that they are racist oppressors by dint of their tint. And Americans see the fruits of this racist teaching in the riots, arson, looting, and violence that pollute our streets.

Americans see the bizarre explosion of troubled adolescent girls suddenly deciding they are boys trapped in biologically healthy girls’ bodies. Americans see public schools affirming such cultish ideas and behaviors, while concealing their complicity from parents.

Americans of all political stripes see the reprehensible destruction of girls’ sports and the sexual integration of school bathrooms and locker rooms.

Americans see curricula and library book collections permeated with obscene literature that promotes disordered sexuality.

And Americans see leftist lawmakers passing laws that require public schools to introduce and affirm leftist beliefs about homosexuality and cross-sex practices to kindergartners.

But finally with racism and unbounded sexuality unleashing chaos and suffering throughout the public square, aided and abetted by the politicized re-education long taking place in public schools, Americans are using their voices to oppose this evil.

Parents are organizing and confronting partisan and indolent school boards from California to the New York island. And when threatened by hostile, tyrannical board members and the Department of Justice with being labeled domestic terrorists, parents are doubling down rather than cowering.

As a result of the collusion between the National School Boards Association (NSBA) with the Justice Department to crack down on critics of leftist school boards, seventeen state school board chapters have withdrawn from the NSBA, taking with them $1.1 million in dues, which constitutes about 42% of the NSBA’s annual income from dues. More money will be lost as these state school boards withdraw too from participation in NSBA-sponsored events. Other local chapters are considering doing likewise. This is but a small step in loosening the grimy, grasping grip of unelected, unaccountable, faceless bureaucrats on education, which should be a local matter.

In droves, teachers are electing to leave the far-leftist, culturally regressive, morally repugnant National Education Association. World magazine reported that the NEA has lost 65,000 members since 2019. One teacher profiled by World is Tracy Hiebert, a black woman and decades-long teacher, who left the NEA because of its support for “critical race theory, LGBTQ issues, and inappropriate sex education.”

I’ve saved the best for last: Parents are pulling their kids out of school. Since the start of the pandemic, Chicago Public Schools has lost 25,000 students, and nationwide 1.5 million students have left public schools.

In a macro-burst of righteous indignation, creativity, and deep love for their children and this nation, parents are choosing alternative ways to educate their children. They are sending them to existing private schools or co-ops. They are homeschooling. And they are creating new micro-schools/co-ops that take many forms.

IFI has long argued that churches must view the children in their congregations as a mission field. Churches should make it possible for any member who wants to exit public schools to do so, either by making the necessary funds available to parents to send their children to existing Christian private schools or by creating affordable schools.

Christians can donate their skills, knowledge, time, and money for this revolutionary project. Retirees in good health with free time can contribute significantly to such a venture. Christians with financial resources can provide help in many forms from curricular material to scholarships. Christian teachers trapped in our taxpayer-funded breeding grounds of lies could provide enormous help in establishing schools that are conducive to human flourishing.

Americans of all ages, races, ethnicities, religions, and nations of origin long to live in a union that is again touched “by the better angels of our nature” rather than drowning in the basest impulses of our fallen nature.

The vast web composed of public schools and all the ancillary organizations affiliated with them, including colleges and universities that train future teachers, organizations and individuals that profit from selling their “diversity, equity, and inclusion” wares to schools, political advocacy groups (e.g., GLSEN, the Illinois Safe Schools Alliance), teachers’ unions, the American Library Association, and the Modern Language Association, are all controlled by leftists. The bias is systemic. Changes will not come in time for children in school today. But as we pull our children out, we must continue to oppose what leftists are teaching those children remaining in public schools. It is a stewardship issue. Our money is being used to indoctrinate children with lies, and these children will be our culture-makers shortly.

No More Single Sex Bathrooms in Chicago Public Schools

The Chicago Public Schools (CPS) system—rife with systemic bias against conservative views of sex and sexuality—has announced its newest effort to cultivate “inclusivity” and “equity” in all of its K-12 schools. The “social justice” activists, pudden-heads, and lemmings who lead the CPS have banned all single-sex bathrooms for children and staff. Instead, children and staff are free to use any bathroom they are “comfortable” using.

Subjective feelings now trump objective scientific reality in determining bathroom usage policy. All bathrooms are now co-ed. No word yet on how the CPS plans to include and respect children and adults who are uncomfortable sharing bathrooms with opposite-sex persons.

As of December 1, 2021, all bathroom signage in CPS schools was supposed to be replaced with signs making clear that multiple occupancy bathrooms are now sexually integrated bathrooms.

What is especially noteworthy and alarming is that this policy allows not just “trans” students and teachers to invade the private spaces of opposite-sex persons; it allows all students and teachers to do so. This misguided policy will also affect all visitors to the school who will be forced to use co-ed bathrooms.

In a Twitter video, CPS Title IX Officer Camie Pratt explains that the new signage “will make it clear that all restrooms are open for use by anyone who feels comfortable.”

Banning sex-based bathrooms necessarily excludes all children and staff who believe feelings of modesty and the desire for safety and privacy when engaged in personal bodily functions emerge from and are based on sexual differentiation. In other words, girls, boys, women, and men who believe biological sex matters are excluded from policy consideration. All that matters in bathroom usage policy and practice are the radical beliefs of those who affirm controversial, ahistorical, anti-science “gender theory.”

Now, any 5th-grade boy who is “comfortable” using a formerly girls’ bathroom is free to use it with 1st-grade girls. Any 12th-grade boy may use a formerly girls’ bathroom with 9th-grade girls. Any male staff member may use formerly women’s bathrooms. And in schools that permit adult staff members to use student bathrooms—as many do—male teachers will be free to use formerly girls’ bathrooms with female students.

How will these co-ed bathrooms be monitored to protect against sexual abuse or consensual sex? And how will the CPS retain students and staff now that the CPS has stripped them of their human rights? In Feb. 2021, U.S. Representative Grace Meng (D-NY) reintroduced her bill that seeks to protect girls and women in refugee camp bathrooms. Meng explained,

[U]nfortunately, many bathrooms in refugee camps do not provide appropriate safety protections. … [O]ften times the restrooms are mixed-sex, public, and without locks. … These conditions create a lack of privacy and dignity and make women and girls afraid to use the restrooms, fearing that they may be assaulted and subjected to violence while using the bathroomThese types of conditions are unacceptable. Nobody should have their safety jeopardized in order to care for their most basic hygiene needs. (emphasis added)

The new CPS policy and the accompanying signage implicitly teach children that physical privacy has nothing to do with physical embodiment as male or female. The explanations offered by leftists about this radical policy change teach children that in order to be respectful, inclusive, compassionate, and equitable, they must relinquish their feelings of modesty, their desire for privacy, and their good and right beliefs about the meaning of biological sex.

Case in point, WGN-TV cites self-identifying “education program managerCurran Cross who says, “We want to make an environment as respectful and inclusive as we can.”

Cross believes respect for “trans,” “nonbinary,” “genderfluid,” and “gender nonconforming” girls and boys entails disrespecting the natural and good feelings and right beliefs of those who do not want to use bathrooms with opposite-sex persons.

Further, conservative parents do not want their children’s school undermining their beliefs about modesty and privacy.

Word to Cross, respect for humans does not require disrespect for their objective sex which never changes.

A parent identified as “Mandal Golden” told WGN-TV that “I’m fine with [sexually integrated bathrooms]. … We have boys and girls at home, it’s the same policy.”

Generally speaking, in one’s home, by age 7-8, brothers and sisters are not sharing the same bathroom at the same time, except for tooth-brushing.  And they’re not sharing the same bathroom at the same time with unrelated opposite-sex peers, strangers, adults, and older kids.

Golden also claimed that his or her kids are “not scared to use the washroom at home.” Maybe they would be scared or uncomfortable if they were using the bathroom at home and in walked an unrelated child of the opposite sex who was four years older.

Moreover, while safety is a serious concern, it is not the foundational issue. The foundational issue pertains to the meaning of biological sex. “Trans”-cultists believe it has no meaning—except, of course, when it matters to them as when they lop off healthy body parts to masquerade as the sex they are not and never can be.

The end goal of the “trans” cult and its ideological allies has never been the freedom of a small number of gender dysphoric persons to access opposite-sex private spaces. The end goal has always been the eradication of all public recognition of sex differences. No more sex-segregated bathrooms, dressing rooms, locker rooms, saunas, dorm rooms, nursing home rooms, prison cells, sports, or book clubs. The policy CPS has implemented signifies a giant leap toward that end.

No child can be properly trained up in the way they should go by adults who don’t respect the reality and meaning of biological sex. The systemically corrupt and crumbling public school system needs to collapse. Get your kids out now. And on your way out, find out exactly who came up with the dumb idea of co-ed bathrooms. He, she, or they need to feel the righteous wrath of taxpayers.
