On June 1, 2022, Gov. J.B. Pritzker sent out a tweet celebrating the month of June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month. Throughout his term in Springfield, Pritzker has been vocal in his support for radical left-wing policies and social issues. He has pandered to the “LGBTQIA” community and has been a regular participant in “Gay Pride” activities across Illinois. In his statement last year, he declared that

Celebrating the diversity of our society has been a cornerstone of my administration. And during LGBTQ Pride Month, I remain committed to help Illinois become a beacon of hope for our LGBTQ+ community nationwide. Our state has brought inclusive LGBTQ+ curriculums into our schools. We expanded Medicaid coverage for gender affirming surgery. We required single occupancy restrooms be designated as gender neutral. And so much more.

He has gleefully supported LGBTQ+ bills passed by the Illinois General Assembly this session, including the REACH Act (mandatory sex education for K-12), LGBT History mandate, the marriage license corruption bill, co-ed bathrooms in public schools, tampons in boys public school bathrooms, and HIV decriminalization. He’s even raised the rainbow flag atop of the Rotunda on the Illinois Capitol and the Governor’s Mansion.

Is it any wonder that he received the Ruth Ellis Award at the Coalition of Rainbow Alliances’ (CORAL) Ritz gala in March? J.B. Pritzker has been not only an ally but also a relentless cheerleader for all things LBGTQIA. In fact, according to ABC Chicago news, while speaking at Equality Illinois’ annual brunch, Pritzker proclaimed:

Maybe in Florida, they don’t say ‘gay,’ but here in Illinois, we say ‘gay.’ Cheers …

As the Left deepens its embrace and exaltation of sexual immorality and thumb their noses at God’s precepts, Christians must not compromise. As followers of Jesus Christ and ambassadors of truth, we do not celebrate what the Bible identifies as sin. Any sexual behavior outside of marriage (one man, one woman) is sin. Isaiah 5:20 warns,

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

We do not support the use of the rainbow—a symbol of God’s promise—to celebrate “pride” and sexual immorality. Proverbs 8:13 is clear:

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverse mouth I hate.

Psalm 5:5 tells us that those who are puffed up with pride shall not stand before Him, and Romans 12:9 instructs us to “abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.” In Ephesians 5:11 we are told to have nothing to do with the works of darkness, “but rather expose them.” And we expose them with the Word of God. That is the standard by which we all will be judged.

If we love our neighbor as we should, we are compelled to oppose the celebration of sin and encourage faith, hope, trust and obedience to God’s Word.

And that brings me to one last, vitally important point: Scripture teaches us that we are all sinners in need of a Savior. There is nothing we can do to clean ourselves up or earn God’s gift of eternal life. It is simply and profoundly available to all who will humble themselves, own up to their sin, repent, ask God’s forgiveness, and submit to His Lordship. There is no other way.  Acts 4:12 says it all:

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other Name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.

God then calls us to trust and obey His instructions. As we read the Bible and grow in faith, we come to understand that we can trust that God’s ways are best. Perhaps some of the most powerful words in Scripture are repeated frequently because God wants us to understand, “He will not leave us nor forsake us.” In a culture and time when we are drifting far from God and His principles for godly living, this promise is not only comforting but also encouraging. Romans 8:31-32 tells us that God is for us! We can live confidently and contently in Him and through Him.

2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” God hates our sins, and every sexual sin committed in the name of rebellion or pride. Yet He extends His love to the lost people who commit these and other sins, urging all of us to turn to Him “and be converted, that [our] sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” (Acts 3:19)

Our culture deals with the pervasive sin of sexual immorality to the point where many people just view sex outside of marriage (in every way possible) as “normal.”

It’s a serious problem, and the root of a lot of the current cultural chaos.

Protect Children & Taxpayers From Radical Gender Ideology

On May 15, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) introduced two bills to the U.S. Senate—one that would prohibit federal funds from supporting gender transition procedures, and another that would altogether ban such procedures on minors.

These bills are so radical in light of contemporary opinion, yet so simple and straightforward in achieving their goals, that when I read their respective texts, I was awed that the U.S. Senate still contains the type of statesman who will stand for the truth in this way.

And Marshall isn’t alone; co-sponsoring one or both of these bills are U.S. Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Mike Braun (R-IN), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Steve Daines (R-MT), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), Mike Lee (R-UT), Markwayne Mulllin (R-OK), James Risch (R-ID), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Roger Wicker (R-MS), and Josh Hawley (R-MO).

On the one hand, the End Taxpayer Funding of Gender Experimentation Act of 2023 (S. 1595) would prohibit several of the current ways that federal dollars can fund gender transition procedures. Under this bill’s provisions, federal funds may not directly fund gender transition therapy or surgery. Neither may they be shuttled into health care plans that include such practices in their coverage.

Further still, no health care service that is furnished by a physician employed by the federal government or even furnished in a facility owned by the federal government may provide gender transition procedures.

The bill does clarify that non-federal health care providers would be free to provide such treatment, and that customers would still be free to seek out separate (non-federal) plans that cover such treatment should they want it. Yet, the federal government must stay out of it.

On the other hand, the Protecting Children From Experimentation Act of 2023 (S. 1597) takes it a step further when dealing with minors; it would ban gender transition procedures for minors in almost all cases—excepting rare medical situations. Under its provisions, any physical or mental healthcare professional would be fined (or face up to five years in prison) for performing or even referring a gender transition procedure.

The bill makes sure to clarify that minors may not be prosecuted for receiving such treatment; however, recipients of the treatment are allowed to bring civil action for relief against the physician who performed it.

Marshall and his colleagues’ stand for the truth deserves three whole-hearted cheers. They are daring to suggest that physicians performing supposedly “essential” gender transition care should be imprisoned! While it seems harsh, it is not any less harsh than the “care” they are purporting to provide—nothing less than a 21st-century version of the self-mutilation practiced in pagan rites for millennia, an abomination which defiles God’s created order bestowed to each one of us since our conception.

Now, it’s one thing to sit back and cheer for U.S. Senators who are willing to take stands like this, drawing clear lines between black and white in a world filled with multitudinous shades of grey. But politics is not a spectator sport. “The people” are more than just the hypothetical but fictitious “12th man” on the football team. “The people” send the players onto the field, tell them how to play, and recall them when they don’t do their jobs right.

Many of Marshall’s colleagues are assuredly shocked at his audacious proposal. But it’s audacious when viewed from a worldview that presupposes society has already settled the question—or at least the toleration—of gender transition procedures.

Thankfully, U.S. Representative Doug LaMalfa (R-CA) has introduced the same legislation in the U.S. House (H.R. 3328 and H.R. 3329), which has 40 co-sponsors, including U.S. Representatives Mike Bost and Mary Miller from southern Illinois.

If we all called or emailed our representatives right now and let them know that we—their very own constituents—agree with Marshall’s stand for the truth, the excuses to dismiss his position as audacious and radical, will start disappearing. Let them know that you sent them on to the field to represent you, and you will not tolerate government support of lies.

U.S. Representative LaMalfa rightly points out in his press release,

let kids be kids and wait until adulthood to make a choice they likely wish they hadn’t as a child. Adults and the medical field shouldn’t be allowed to coerce this “woke” agenda onto them when they should be their protectors. Adults need to realize that their coercion is abuse, and should face appropriate consequences.

Nothing opens your mind to new worlds and new possibilities better than a book. Stories can communicate ideas, themes, and lessons considerably better than a lecture does. Children love to act out the stories of their favorite characters, adopting their mannerisms and wishing to be them. You probably can think of a book that has impacted you deeply and maybe even encouraged you to change your behavior in some manner.

Stories are incredibly powerful, sometimes bringing about great change in a culture.

Throughout history, various groups and organizations have banned books for a myriad of reasons: they were deemed inappropriate or immoral, the ideas proliferated were considered dangerous or heretical, or a tyrant thought they would stir up unrest and opposition to his rule.

Book banning is not a good thing. Because of the innate sinfulness of humanity, banning one book opens the door for unjust people or groups to ban anything they choose.

Lately, so-called book banning has been forefront in the news; a story complicated by the narrative the media is spinning. In 2020, when everything shut down due to Covid, public schooling moved to Zoom, and parents could see what their children were being taught and the material they were assigned, including the books their kids were reading.

At some point during all of this, it was discovered that there are books in elementary through high school libraries that are highly pornographic. This is not an exaggeration. If you don’t believe me, watch this video posted by a concerned mother  (WARNING: graphic content).

Understandably, parents began forming groups to advocate for having more of a say in what their children are learning in public schools and began rightly contesting books such as Gender Queer, All Boys aren’t Blue, and Lawn Boy, reading them out loud at school board meetings, requesting that schools remove them from their libraries, and asking that they provide age-appropriate reading material only.

Now the media is attacking parents and parental rights groups like Moms for Liberty. The story is being framed to make it look like these parents are trying to ban books because they are bigots who don’t want their children exposed to “diverse” ideas. They’re comparing concerned parents to Big Brother in George Orwell’s 1984 (which is ironic, since in 1984 it was Big Brother that was providing people with porn).

Without coming right out and saying it, they’re purporting that schools should have these books in their libraries precisely because parents don’t want their kids to read them. The idea seems to be, “What if those poor kids feel uncomfortable with who they are and need a place to express themselves and learn about every aspect of the LGBTQIA agenda without the involvement of their mean, strict parents?”

Not only is this a twisted spin on the facts, but it is a downright lie. Banning a book means that the book is banned. It’s illegal to buy, sell, read, or own, and anyone caught with it would face punishment. That isn’t what these parents are requesting. Asking that a book be removed from a school library because of inappropriate content doesn’t vilify the parent.

Similarly, we wouldn’t blame a parent for taking a phone away from their child who is doing things he or she isn’t supposed to with it. Children aren’t allowed to go to tattoo parlors or tanning salons, and we rate movies based on the content because there are things children (and people in general) should not see.

Requesting only age-appropriate content in public schools doesn’t constitute a ban.

Much of the reasoning behind the media’s spin of the story is because most, if not all, of the contested books are LGBTQIA+ related. Our culture is obsessed with self– personal autonomy, total unrestricted freedom, and the pursuit of making oneself happy. It’s a worldview that says, “Anything goes, but if you get in the way of my anything, you need to go.”

But freedom in this world isn’t unlimited. Free societies still have laws and legal consequences for breaking them because people do bad things. If those things were allowed to continue without repercussions, society would collapse. Insisting on having the freedom to gratify the desires of the flesh ends up in slavery to death and eternal destruction.

The backbone of true freedom is Biblical morality.

Some things absolutely should be illegal. In reality, the LGBTQIA+ movement has to do with a grotesque focus on sex. It’s openly targeting children, who, be they seven or seventeen, ought to be guarded against, not exposed to pornography. Adults shouldn’t be filling their minds with it either.

Stories have the power to change minds, for good or for evil. Requesting that a school provide only age-appropriate material is a good thing, and very different from book banning.

Things are truly upside-down. Christians, who have been scorned forever as weak and milk-toast, are suddenly public enemy number one. And while Christianity has been the source of thousands of American charities and the inspiration for hospitals, medical care, and education worldwide, it is now labeled by the Left as hateful and bigoted. Then we see destructive anarchist groups like Antifa and BLM glorified in the Media and academia as forces for good! How could this be?

The Left has had an advantage over conservatives in shaping the public’s perception of things for many years because they have controlled the narrative. They have presented themselves as caring and compassionate, sympathetic to the poor and the disadvantaged. And, because of the Christian ideal of giving people the benefit of the doubt, we have accepted that maybe they were truly concerned for those who are less advantaged.

However, because Leftists now have so much power, they no longer feel the need to hide their true objective. They seek political dominance and the elimination of Christianity in all public forums and will do whatever is necessary to accomplish those goals. They have portrayed themselves as selfless champions of the downtrodden, and conservatives as greedy. However, we must no longer tolerate that narrative. It is a lie, and their duplicity is clear to all whose eyes are open.

Leftists have done well at creating the perception that they are not in politics for money, thus masking their greed. But make no mistake! They are as greedy as one can be. However, if you have enough power, you do not need personal wealth because you control other peoples’ money.

With the power to tax, politicians can live as if they are wealthy by legally confiscating and spending other people’s money. Creating wealth is difficult and requires certain skills and discipline. But if you are not talented in this area and are lazy and unethical, politics provides you with a vehicle to achieve your dreams without the hard work and risk that capital creation requires.

What we have seen over the last 60 years is the Left demonizing those who create wealth in order to justify confiscating it.

At the same time, the leftists, who disdain wealth creators, have convinced the public that they (the Leftists) are better and more selfless stewards of that wealth. Thus, we have people who are incapable of creating wealth, taking it from those who do and spending it according to their own desires and accruing to themselves more power in the process. It is interesting how many politicians have become multimillionaires even as they denounce those who created the wealth in the first place.

We are now governed by people who have no idea how to create or wisely manage wealth, and whose real motivation is that of controlling the rest of us. They are the embodiment of greed. They are concerned primarily for themselves and serve others only as a means of accruing power and wealth to themselves.

While one would expect that they would alienate most everyone because of their greed, they have managed to gain a substantial following among three groups who sustain them in power: those who are content to take a handout and produce nothing, those who are genuinely needy and have become dependent upon the politicians, and a third group who are equally cynical and see an opportunity to accrue some personal power and prestige by supporting the Leftists and their sordid process.

Sadly, the Media, whose primary responsibility is to hold public figures accountable, cover for their corruption. There is no way to describe it other than that of non-producers stealing and controlling what the producers have created. They are truly parasitic.

This brings us to the very important question: what does the Bible say about all this?  As “pilgrims” here are we to be compliant and silent? Compassion and generosity are certainly Christian values! But as an aside, let us put to rest the nostrum that Leftism is compassionate. It decidedly is not! After decades of the federal government spending literally trillions of dollars on numerous supposedly compassionate programs, the poor remain poor and the powerless remain powerless.

If these programs are as bad as they appear, we should turn our attention to their impact on society in general and on those who contribute. Is it moral to confiscate resources from those who create and earn it only to squander it on ineffective programs? I believe the evidence suggests that the exorbitant taxation upon the middle and upper classes in America over the last 50 years has been both immoral and counterproductive.

So, what does the Bible teach about such things? One need not be a Bible scholar to know that stealing is wrong. Therefore, without having good reason the government should not take from one citizen to give to another. Having the government’s imprimatur does not change the reality that transferring wealth from earners to non-earners without Constitutional authority is theft.  The right to personal property guaranteed in the Constitution is not simply to provide for an individual’s greed, but rather to protect his life.

Unprotected property rights place every citizen’s life at risk. If the government can take, at will, one’s wealth, it can starve that person to death. And the fact that even after trillions of dollars have been transferred, primarily from earners to non-earners, there are still many millions in poverty underscores the need to rethink our “compassionate” welfare system. As constructed, it is a colossal failure.

Foundational to the issue is the fact that government is incapable of ministering compassion. It must fall to other social institutions and organizations, such as churches, to resolve the poverty problem.

The Bible notes that “wisdom is justified of her children,” (Luke 7:35), meaning that the wisdom of an act is revealed by its consequences; and Jesus stated that “a tree is known by its fruit,” (Luke 6:44). Therefore, if a particular activity repeatedly produces bad results one can assume the act is foolish and ought to be discontinued. One’s intentions mean nothing in this.

While the Left burnishes their “compassion badges,” boasting of how much they care, virtually everything they have done for over fifty years has produced nothing but heartache, misery, poverty and increased public unrest. It cannot be ignored that as Christianity has been pushed to the fringes of society there have been tragic increases in crime, depression, suicide, divorce, sexual perversion, and confusion.

Setting aside for the moment those who cannot provide for themselves, the Bible is very clear that anyone who refuses to work should not eat. Witness the sorry tales of so many lottery winners to understand that we do not do well with unearned wealth! Therefore, government should do nothing to facilitate a comfortable life for those unwilling to work. Sources, secular and sacred, confirm that generally, those who are diligent, disciplined, and work hard do not go hungry.

Scriptures tell us that God gives rain to those who love Him and those who don’t. He is gracious! This does not mean that His provision will always be abundant. We should all be grateful to him for his care and provision for us whether it be modest or abundant. It may be that one of our biggest errors, culturally, is that we have raised a generation of Americans who believe they are owed a rich and comfortable existence even though they have done little or nothing productive. To give it to them would be immoral and destructive!

Colonial Jamestown, VA scholar, Martha McCartney, wrote in Encyclopedia Virginia, (Dec 7, 2020) that Captain John Smith, early President of the colony, would have nothing of slothfulness, declaring that

“the labours of thirtie or fortie honest and industrious men shall not be consumed to maintaine a hundred and fiftie idle loyterers.”

Whatever his motives, it is quite clear that his stubbornness preserved lives. Very few died under his leadership while a large number perished under the leadership of his successor who was not so strict. As McCartney noted,

“Regardless of whether Smith recognized this fact, he found that even small amounts of work improved both the material life and health of the colonists.”

These realities are so obvious that no politician can honestly deny them. To create a public welfare system where productivity and hard work are discouraged by the government’s confiscation of wealth from producers to distribute it to those who are unwilling to work is simply immoral and will, if not corrected, contribute to the collapse of the entire economy. It is impossible for our politicians not to understand this, therefore, we need no longer accept the notion that they are well-intentioned but misguided.

No, they are simply greedy, either for money or power, or both. They are snakes in the grass who ought to be exposed for what they are. Their programs have produced virtually nothing of value and instead an abundance of suffering.

In seeking a biblical perspective, the faithful Christian should consider two primary principles: First is his responsibility to the poor. Numerous biblical texts in both Old and New Testaments give God’s answer. On one hand, Christ Himself noted that, “the poor you have with you always.” This is merely a sad acknowledgement of reality. People are poor for a variety of reasons, many of which are intractable.

This must not be construed as cause for doing nothing. Many Christians and others have seen the impossibility of eliminating poverty as cause for discouragement and apathy.

However, Christ’s parable of the Good Samaritan teaches us that while we may not be able to do much about poverty across the globe, we can do something about people in need who cross our paths regularly. Therefore, the Christian ought to be known for wise generosity: encouraging work for those able, and compassionate giving to those who cannot provide for themselves.

Which leads to the second principle: Just as it is wrong to ignore genuine need, it is wrong to indulge the indolent. The Scriptures teach that if a man refuses to work, he should not be given food. It is for his own betterment that others refuse to support him in his slothful choices. He will gain more than a meal when he learns the value of hard work.

America is at a fork in the road. Will we return to the imperfections, yet relative goodness of a society guided by the principles and truths of Christianity and the Bible, or adopt Marxism and fall back into the despotism and misery that has otherwise characterized human history from its beginnings?

The choice seems pretty clear to me!

Following in the footsteps of perverted sex maniac Alfred Kinsey responsible for the sexual abuse and torture of countless children, the United Nations World Health Organization (WHO)is pushing the grotesque view that babies and children under 4-years old should be masturbating while exploring sexuality and gender — and that governments should encourage this. Yes, seriously.

Despite being peddled for years by the WHO, political leaders are only just now getting around to condemning the abusive UN WHO “guidance” as governments push it on victims of public schools. A scandal surrounding the bizarre recommendations from the global organization has reached a fever pitch in Wales and the broader United Kingdom.

Conservative Shadow Minister for Education in Wales Laura Anne Jones called on the self-styled planetary “health” body to “rescind the advice immediately.” “We must stop this pushing of harmful gender ideology into sex education in Wales and the UK, with immediate effect,” said Jones, calling on Welsh authorities to “distance themselves” from the “disturbing” UN guidance.

Under the WHO recommendations directed at European policymakers, first released over a decade ago but only now being cited in school curricula in the UK, children under 4 years of age are encouraged to “ask questions about sexuality” and “explore gender identities.” According to the WHO, children need to “gain an awareness of gender identity” for reasons that were not made clear.

The UN scheme also calls on governments to teach these tiny tots about “enjoyment and pleasure when touching one’s own body, early childhood masturbation.” The organization has even released highly disturbing videos of adults teaching very young children about masturbation that very much look like grooming of children by pedophiles.

The approach to sex traces directly back to pervert Kinsey, who used taxpayer dollars to train pedophiles to “scientifically” abuse and rape children. Under the guise of “research,” Kinsey’s pedophiles brutally abused and raped children including babies and then concluded that they were “sexual” from birth. The horrific data documenting this abuse was in Kinsey’s book Sexual Behavior in the Human Male.

Critics expressed outrage. Tanya Carter with the Safe Schools Alliance called for an “urgent inquiry” into links between the perversion being pushed by the UN and the sex “education” curriculum being used in the UK. “We call upon them to revise their standards to align with a safeguarding-first approach that protects children while allowing them to develop a healthy and age-appropriate understanding of sex,” the group said.

The organization also condemned the agenda of the UN and its agencies — especially for attempting to normalize child rape. “We find it extremely concerning that the UN and WHO are promoting an approach that is experimental, unscientific, and appears to be aligned to the work of unethical individuals and organizations, including those promoting the acceptance of pedophilia,” the Alliance said.

This is the same WHO that is currently working with the Biden administration on a historic power grab. Under the guise of a new “International Pandemic Treaty” and amendments to the “International Health Regulations,” the global body is seeking to become the top global authority on everything related to international “health emergencies.” Critics are fighting back hard.

UN education agency UNESCO, in partnership with the WHO and UNICEF, has similarly come under fire for promoting horrific “international technical guidance” on what they euphemistically refer to as “comprehensive sexuality education.” The standards call for sexualizing Kindergarten children. By age 5, the standards teach children unspeakable perversion.

Promoting this sort of sick perversion to children is horrific enough. It should be considered a crime punishable by law. Doing it with tax money through government is a crime against humanity. It is past time for Congress and governments around the world to defund and disband the predatory UN and the WHO for good. The innocence of children depends on it.

There are times when it gets wearisome, needing to expose the increasing insanity of the Illinois legislature. This is one of those times. In a piece of legislature that defies biology as well as puts a gigantic burden on every single public business in Illinois, the new House Bill 3093 Amends the Equitable Restrooms Act.

This bill,

“provides that every public restroom open to the public shall include menstrual hygiene products at no cost to the users of that public restroom. Provides that all menstrual hygiene products shall be placed within the public restroom and be openly accessible to users of that public restroom. Provides that the entity providing the public restroom shall be responsible for ordering, stocking, and replenishing the supply of menstrual hygiene products in the public restroom. Provides that the provisions do not apply to mosques, temples, churches, or other places of worship. Includes provisions relating to inspection of public restrooms and rules that the Department of Public Health shall adopt. Provides that a violation of provisions relating to baby changing stations, all-gender single-occupancy restrooms, and menstrual hygiene products is a petty offense with a fine of not more than $100…”

Did you catch that? Not only will every single public business be required by law to “order, stock, and replenish the supply of menstrual hygiene products” at their own cost, or be fined up to $100 if they run out or don’t supply those things – but they must supply those menstrual products in MEN’S BATHROOMS!

That’s right. J.B. Pritzker, and the whole Democratic cabal all believe that men need menstrual products. Because everyone knows that men ovulate every month. This legal proposal would be laughable if it wasn’t going to cost potentially hundreds of dollars for every small business owner to supply men’s tampons and sanitary napkins.

And not only that, but any woman will now be able to go into any public restroom, stock up on feminine products and walk out without paying for any of it. Who will buy tampons at Walmart now? Only business owners who must constantly replenish them out of their own pockets. This is liberalism, folks.

When will this pandering to the deranged and absurd trans-agenda end? Only when sane people stand up and say “enough is enough.” Tell Illinois State Senators to stop spending our money on vacuous, empty-headed madness.

This bill passed the Illinois House on March 22nd by a vote of 69 to 40, and is now pending a hearing in the Executive Committee.

We’ve all seen the bumper sticker that spells COEXIST by combining the symbols of major world religions in a convenient order. The bumper sticker seems reasonable; after all, isn’t it just representing the world as it is—people of many religions all existing side by side in the same space? If that were all the bumper sticker meant, then I might consider putting one on my car; it’s an obviously true fact about the world. However, the sticker means much more than that—it doesn’t just commend the idea of people of many different religions all living in the same space, it preaches the doctrine that the ideas promoted by many different religions must be appreciated at the same level.

The distinction between accepting people and accepting ideas is a subtle yet fundamental concept when it comes to discussing tolerance, and today’s world has gotten it exactly backwards. The unruly protest sparked by Riley Gaines‘ talk at San Francisco State University earlier this month is a case in point.

Gaines, a former NCAA swimmer who has held the All-American champ title 12 times, gave a talk at San Francisco State University on April 6 to speak out against the inclusion of transgender women in female sports. Given that Gaines’ message is unpopular in many universities, it was entirely to be expected that she would have received some pushback and perhaps had to engage in some difficult conversations. And one wouldn’t expect much different to occur at a university — an institution ostensibly dedicated to pursuing and disseminating truth, which often requires a clash of conflicting ideas.

But Gaines received far more than uncomfortable conversation—she received a shouting attack. Angry supporters of women’s-sports-trans-inclusion got so verbally violent and physically intimidating that city police had to arrive to help Gaines safely exit the campus. View a short video of the ugly interaction here (this video does contain profanity), which shows an irate trans supporter shouting the mantra “trans rights are human rights” mixed with foul language.

How can an ideology so dedicated to “tolerance” produce adherents who are so obviously intolerant? Herein lies our critical distinction tolerating ideas and tolerating people are two entirely different things. When people praise “tolerance” as a virtue, much of its appeal comes
from the traditional understanding of the word. Tolerance traditionally means that when there are other people who disagree with you, you ought to respect them as fellow human beings, even if you don’t agree with their ideas.

Under this interpretation of tolerance, people can vigorously argue, debate, and refute each other, but at the end of the day they all realize that they each retain special dignity by virtue of simply being human beings created in God’s image, and they can part ways still respecting each other.

However, the contemporary interpretation of “tolerance” flips things on its head. To many, the word still deceptively retains the dignity associated with its noble meaning, but it is now completely redefined: tolerance means that when there are other people who disagree with you, you must accept their ideas as if they were worthy of belief. Attempting to refute, persuade, or even advocate ideas contrary to someone else’s beliefs thus becomes aggression and intolerance.

The problem with this interpretation is that there really are no grounds for accepting all ideas equally. I can accept and respect all other human beings because they are fellow human beings created in the image of God, but should I be forced to readily accept all ideas by virtue of them being… well… “fellow ideas” with my own? To say such implies that all ideas—by virtue of simply being ideas—are worthy of acceptance or respect. But, unlike people, ideas can be stack-ranked according to value. The idea that “gravity is real” is a whole lot more valuable than the idea that “gravity isn’t real.”

Unfortunately, this contemporary definition of tolerance is often accompanied by intolerance of people—the exact opposite of its traditional definition. The protestors at Gaines’ talk disagreed with her ideas, but translated that into attacks on her as a person.

Our culture desperately needs to recover the proper virtue of tolerance—accepting all people, but not all ideas.

If you’ve never heard of Jimmy Donaldson, more commonly known by the moniker Mr. Beast, ask your child who he is. He (or she) likely knows. Mr. Beast is a highly popular YouTuber with multiple channels dedicated to various things, such as friendly competitions, gaming, and philanthropy. He has 146 million subscribers on his main YouTube channel and anywhere between 12.8 million to 32 million on each of his spin-off channels.

Mr. Beast’s videos, which are designed to look like a group of friends hanging out and filming as they go along, generally revolve around giving away large sums of money. For example, a few of his videos are titled, “Survive 100 Days In Circle, Win 500,000,” “I Built Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory!” or “Last To Take Hand Off Jet, Keeps It!”

Mr. Beast is incredibly popular among youth, especially teenage boys. His videos have over 100 million views each.

The first time many adults heard of Mr. Beast was a couple of months ago when he received a lot of flak (mainly from the Left) for a video detailing how he paid for cataract surgery for 1,000 blind people. Now Mr. Beast is in the news again, but unfortunately, it’s for something a lot less philanthropic.

Chris Tyson is a member of Mr. Beast’s cast of friends. Over the past couple of months, viewers noticed that Tyson has started to look and act differently in videos. The reason why became clear when Tyson revealed on Twitter that he has been going through hormone treatments to try and ‘transition’ into a girl. What makes this even sadder is that Tyson has a wife and son, who now must deal with the inevitable fallout of Tyson’s decision.

Tyson’s transition can be directly linked to an apparent addiction to pedophilic anime pornography, illustrating just how powerful influences can be. Tyson went from a typical, regular man, to a confused-looking guy in girl’s clothing.

Parents will want to know that Mr. Beast has given his full support to Chris Tyson in the form of a tweet that uses foul language:

Unless something changes, Mr. Beast’s channel is now a wolf in sheep’s clothing; another place for the LGBTQ+ agenda to be normalized and funneled into your kids. The things you watch and read and listen to really do influence you. The catalyst for Chris Tyson’s change was the porn he is reportedly addicted to and watching.

This should serve as a warning for each of us individually, and especially for parents when it comes to what they let their children watch or have access to. Finding porn online is as easy as mistyping a web address, and even if what you watch is not as evil as porn, the things you fill yourself with – books, movies, TV shows, etc., – really do influence and change you.

Bad company ruins good morals (1 Corinthians 15:33), and if what you keep company with is sinful, you’ll find yourself warped by it. Mr. Beast is sending a message to millions of kids around the world through his acceptance of Tyson’s change. Even if he doesn’t make a big deal of it and simply keeps Tyson on the show, kids all around the world are going to see that someone they look up to, admire, and wish to be thinks this is okay and normal.

This news provides a great discussion opportunity for you and your kids. Sin is awful, especially sexual sin, and those who are caught in it become slaves to it. These are chains that are incredibly difficult to throw off.

Chris Tyson is bound by the chains of this sin. We need to pray for him, Mr. Beast, and the rest of the Mr. Beast crew to see the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Several decades ago, a very prominent liberal in Illinois once told me that “there are facts and there are principles. I believe in principles. If the facts contradict the principles, then the facts must be ignored.” This seems to be the thinking of large swaths of our current population. Forget the facts. All that is important is what we believe.

For the left, gender ideology seems to be one of those beliefs that exists far beyond the facts. The basic principle is that everyone has a sex and a gender. Biology determines your sex. Gender identity is determined by something inside, something known only to the person.

Today, there are more than 200 colleges in the U.S. that promote this gender ideology by offering degrees in gender studies as a major or a minor, despite there being no evidence that such a thing as gender even exists. The entire structure of gender ideology is based on a theory spawned by the deranged mind of John Money, whose research has been discredited by his own disastrous experiments. His seminal experiment was a catastrophic failure. And that failure, that fact, has been ignored . . . because it must be since the failure contradicts the principle.

The idea of gender has become so entrenched in our culture it’s difficult to see a path to escape from it. Yet it was created out of thin air and has metastasized throughout all our institutions within the last half century. Even major Christian denominations have become corrupted by gender ideology.

We have become so desensitized to gender, it seems that most of us have become resigned to it and have lost any sense of the danger the ideology poses. Take the transgender issue.

Transgender clinics for children have sprung up, seemingly overnight, throughout the country. After all, children know best who and what they are. Performances by drag queens at libraries, schools, restaurants and other public venues have become commonplace. All in good fun.

The dark side of the issue is being ignored by most. Little attention is paid to the mental illnesses that underlie the transgender phenomenon, or to the genuine danger that many transgenders pose toward others because of their mental illnesses, their narcissism, their twisted thinking.

This dark side cannot be ignored for long.

Recently Kelsey Boren, 31, a former teacher’s aide in Oregon, was convicted of 11 counts of encouraging child sexual abuse. Boren is a man who claims he’s a woman. And he is a drag queen, whose stage name is Alwaiz Craving. What he’s always craving seems evident by what he was convicted for, and by the fact that he was mentoring an 11 year old boy to become a drag queen. Boren had arranged for the boy to perform at a local pub named after Satan. As far as I can tell the child’s parents have not been prosecuted. Shockingly, Boren received less than one year in county jail for his conviction on 11 felony charges.

If this case doesn’t reveal the dark side of transgenderism clearly enough for you, several years ago I investigated the case of a four-year-old boy living in New York who had suffered abuse and torture at the hands of a transgender woman (a man) so severe that the child died.

Because of my past profession, I am accustomed to seeing the worst humanity has to offer, including countless cases of severe abuse that have led to the death of a child.  Four decades ago, I investigated more than 200 such cases during the course of my first investigation into the child welfare system.  But I’ve never seen one quite like the torture murder of Myls Dobson.

Myls’ killer was the new “girlfriend” of the child’s father. Born Christopher King, “she” was known as Janaie Jones and reportedly used the stage name of Kryzie King.  “She” had a $3,200 per month apartment at the Ritz Plaza in Midtown Manhattan and was a “transgender performer.”

Jones/King supposedly had a juvenile record but nothing as an adult. During an interview by the police, Jones/King admitted to starving the boy for more than two weeks, beating him with the buckle end of a belt all over his body, burning him with cigarettes and making him stand outside in his underwear for more than an hour when the temperature was 9 degrees.  “She” eventually called paramedics when the boy became unresponsive and they found him unconscious in a bathtub with extensive burns and bruises all over his body, including his genitals.

This is evil in its most sadistic manifestation.  You don’t get there overnight.  You don’t go from crime free to this kind of behavior unless you’ve already traveled many miles down the path of depravity. Additionally, Jones/King is a man.  He is not a she, no matter how much the gender cult wants it to be so.  This is a sick, twisted, evil man.

He is also transgendered.  That does not mean that all transgendered men are sick, twisted murderers. But this guy is among the worst.

The American Psychological Association says:

Transgender is an umbrella term for persons whose gender identity, gender expression or behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the sex to which they were assigned at birth. Gender identity refers to a person’s internal sense of being male, female or something else; gender expression refers to the way a person communicates gender identity to others through behavior, clothing, hairstyles, voice or body characteristics.

Until recently, transgendered people were considered to have a mental disorder, specifically “gender identity disorder.”  But with the publication of the DSM-5, the term has been changed to “gender dysphoria” to de-emphasize that it is a “disorder.”

From the descriptions I’ve read about the injuries Myls suffered, I have to conclude that this is a case of child sexual sadism.  Not having access to all the investigation reports, I can’t be certain. But it sure looks like it. In any event, what Jones/King did to the boy proves that he was, indeed, disordered, to say the least.

I won’t go into all the other chaos of this little boy’s life, you can read a few of the articles here, here, here, and here.   The whole story of his short time on this earth is sad beyond comprehension and should be viewed as an indictment of the pathetic paper shuffling, buck passing system we’ve set up to make it seem we care about protecting children.

If we are ever going to get a clear picture of what’s going wrong (and right, for that matter), let’s first stop with all the woke lingo and start reporting the facts.  Maybe then, when we can see how “disordered” our world is becoming, we might be able to do something about it.

The torture murder of Myls Dobson by a transgendered child sexual sadist is outrageous.  But it is also outrageous to downplay the contribution played by the murderer’s lifestyle and HIS self-styled sexual orientation.

Christopher King and Kelsey Boren are not representative of the transgender community as a whole. But there are many like them within that community and there are many more who pose a less aggressive threat. More importantly, these cases are cautionary tales. They are a reminder that transgenderism involves a deranged view of reality that presents an imminent danger to children. That fact cannot be ignored if you care about protecting children.

The circumstances of your conception cannot change the value of your worth. Life is a precious, precious gift. Whether planned or unplanned, every human life has purpose.

Bomberger combats the idea that unplanned means unwanted and explains the principles of L.I.F.E. – Love one another, Identify the lie, Fight the lie, Expect the victory.

He illustrates the Radiance Foundation’s application of this in their fight to illuminate, educate and motivate believers. Bomberger, who was himself adopted, also speaks on the blessings of adoption, reminding us that it was God who created adoption so that we could be adopted into His family.

His talk is incredibly encouraging and often humorous, providing a breath of fresh air in a battle that so often focuses only on the negative. Please watch and share. You won’t regret it!

In October of last year, in a “girls” high school volleyball game in North Carolina, a student was injured painfully. The ball was spiked by a member of the opposing team—only it wasn’t by a biological female but a biological male—a transgender player. That had to leave a mark. Watch the video for yourself.

Today that girl, Payton McNabb, is speaking out to support a bill that would disallow biological males from competing in girls’ sports.

In our Brave New World, people can claim to identify as a member of the opposite sex, and so it is. But that neither comports with the Bible nor science.

In his new book, The War on Virtue, Dr. William Donohue, the president of the Catholic League, writes, “Among many members of the ruling class, gender ideology is all the rage. But the fact is that we cannot change our sex. We are either male or female. We cannot change our chromosomes.”

Congress acted last week to bar biological males from competing with biological females in schools and colleges that receive federal funds. It passed in the House, 219-203.

The sponsor of the bill, Greg Steube (R-Florida) said, “The integrity of women’s sports must be protected.” Kevin McCarthy (R-California) called it a “great day for America, a great day for girls and women and for fairness in sports.”

Sadly, not one Democrat voted for it. No, not one. And President Biden threatens to veto it.

Furthermore, punishment awaits those who deviate from the new “sexual orthodoxy” that claims a man can be a woman if he so wills it. Such as a Christian school in New England.

Last month, the New York Post reported, “A Vermont high school has been banned from participating in state athletics after its girls’ hoops team forfeited a playoff game against a team with a trans player.” And so it goes in our Brave New World.

Terry Schilling, executive director of the American Principles Project, has become an outspoken critic of the transgender movement. In a radio segment on its impact on women’s sports, Terry told me: “The transgender movement believes that sex is not important. What is really important is your gender identity or who you identify as. Men and women are different. Our founding fathers would have said it is a ‘self-evident truth’ that men and women are different.”

Schilling adds, “We have studied this scientifically—the biological difference between males and females, and there are many of them. When they come to sports, they apply the most. Men have more bone density than women do. Men are taller on average. Men are typically faster. They have more muscle mass….This is what scientific research has shown time and time again. And it’s all related to our hormones and our biological makeup, and it’s why we needed to create Title IX.”

The federal government notes that Title IX is a part of the Education Amendments of 1972: “Title IX protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance.”

Out of Title IX grew women’s sports leagues. So that women could compete against women.

But the transgender movement is disrupting all this. Many girls who have practiced for years in a particular sport are now losing to biological males who have a natural advantage over them. The girls then lose out on valuable scholarships.

What are biological males doing in women’s sports? It is grossly unfair. Sometimes it’s even dangerous—as in the volleyball example.

One of the great ideals of America is basic fairness. It’s abiding by the Golden Rule, articulated by Jesus, that we should treat others as we would want to be treated. If you were a biological female, would you want to have to compete with biological males claiming to be girls?

Some of our presidents noted the importance of the Golden Rule in a variety of contexts:

• Teddy Roosevelt told the Congress: “The Golden Rule should be, and as the world grows in morality it will be, the guiding rule of conduct among nations as among individuals.”

• President Harry Truman noted, “All the questions which now beset us in strikes and wages and working conditions would be so much simpler if men and women were willing to apply the principles of the Golden Rule. Do as you would be done by.”

• Before he became president, California Governor Ronald Reagan asserted, “With freedom goes responsibility. Sir Winston Churchill once said you can have 10,000 regulations and still not have respect for the law. We might start with the Ten Commandments. If we lived by the Golden Rule, there would be no need for other laws.”

The longer society goes down this path, the longer we abandon our moral sanity, the worse off we are.

There is something rotten in the Illinois General Assembly. Dozens of Illinois Democrats are cosponsoring House Bill 1596, titled, “The Children And Family Services Act,” a bill that will expunge every occurrence of the pronouns “he,” “she,” “his,” and “her” from existing laws pertaining to children. Wherever the law formerly stated, “he or she,” or “his or her” it now says, “the minor,” or “the child,” or “the applicant,” or “the member.” And they plan to do this to numerous existing laws.

This bill is now in the Illinois Senate after passing in the Illinois House by a partisan vote of 72 to 37 on March 21st.

It seems that “Progressives” in Illinois will do anything to get away from using gender specific pronouns. What could be the reason for refusing to use pronoun-specific language? It is an attempt to erase the recognition of God’s creation of male and female. You see, out of infinite love, God created us man and woman — to complement each other with our masculinity and femininity. Progressives hate that symbiotically ordered relationship. They love sin and chaos.

Here is the legislative synopsis::

Amends various Acts concerning children by: replacing certain pronouns with the nouns to which the pronouns refer; replacing certain instances of the word “biological”; changing the Independent Juvenile Ombudsman to the Independent Juvenile Ombudsperson; deleting certain obsolete language; and making technical and other changes.

The radical trans agenda has reached a point where even the law of the land that mentions men or women infuriates them. And it doesn’t stop there. In the bill, section (20 ILCS 505/5) (from Ch. 23, par. 5005 3 (e)), the phrase, “biological family” is replaced with “birth family.” Even basic biology is no longer accepted in “progressive” Illinois, to the extent that the word “biological” provokes our legislature.

Friends, when society has gone this mad, it is incumbent upon Christians to stand for the Truth. The explanation for this insanity is simple, the Apostle Paul tells us, “And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper” (Romans 1:28).

It is irrational to remove gender-specific pronouns from our vocabulary. It is preposterous to cancel biology. And it is not proper for our lawmakers to thrust the transgender agenda down the throats of the people of Illinois. It is time for us to speak out, and call our local state senator and tell him or her that we do not agree with removing gendered pronouns from legislation regarding our children and family. Boys are boys and girls are girls, and that will never change, no matter if a super majority of state lawmakers wish it weren’t so.

You may want to point out that the people of Illinois do not want lawmakers to re-write the English language to accommodate the demands of a group of left-wing ideologues. They have other priorities that demand their attention during this session. Spending time to push legislation that would eliminate pronouns is a non-starter.

Last December, we published an article about how American Girl went woke, pushing gender ideology and the LGBTQ agenda through their dolls and books. Sadly, American Girl isn’t the only generationally beloved toy company to have embraced the way of the world. The latest toy company to have gone full woke is Lego, and as in the case of American Girl, this isn’t a sudden switch.

In 2021, Lego released a set called, “Everyone Is Awesome.” Inspired by the LGBTQ flag, it was released in honor of pride month. (See the featured picture above.)

In 2022 they launched a campaign entitled “The A-Z of Awesome,” with the tagline stating, “This is the A-Z of Awesome, a colorful alphabet of identities built from LEGO bricks, created by our incredible LGBTQIA+ fans!”

This seems to have flown mostly under the radar until Lego posted it to their Instagram page about a week ago, sparking frustration in parents who don’t want their children exposed to the pervasion of the LGBTQ agenda.

For the campaign, Lego invited people who identify as LGBTQ+ (including a man pretending to be a woman) to build something related to a letter in the alphabet that they felt represented them and their “identity.” Among others, you will find “C for Coming Out,” “I for Intersex,” “L for Lesbian,” “N for Non-Binary,” and “Q for Queer” (see photos).

Lego also said they would be donating to “LGBTQIA+ charity partners” as part of the campaign.

It’s incredibly sad when yet another company – especially one that has touched so many childhoods – falls prey to the religion of the world. In Matthew 12:30, Jesus said, “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” Even though a secular company may appear to uphold Christian values for a time, the company is against Christ and will eventually show it.  Lego is following the world because it doesn’t have eyes to see what God’s law says.

“They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.” (Ephesians 4:18-19)

In short, Christians shouldn’t be surprised when a secular company goes the way of the world.

What makes Lego’s story more tragic is that Ole Kirk Kristiansen, Lego’s founder, was a Christian (and by some accounts a very devout one, praying with his employees before work and holding company-wide Bible studies). Even though the current owner of Lego is Ole Kirk Kristiansen’s grandson, the company didn’t retain its Christian heritage, evidence that it doesn’t take much for a family, organization, or country to lose faith. Parents must make a point of training their children up in the Lord, encouraging them in faith, and teaching them Christ. In a sin-dominated world, parents aren’t the only ones seeking to train their children.

Every time a secular company goes woke, it should serve as both a warning and a reminder. Christian, this world needs Jesus so desperately. We are going to stick out more and more as aliens in this world while companies that seemed trustworthy capitulate to godless ideologies. By God’s grace, let’s use our non-conformity to shine the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ into this present darkness with the hope and prayer that hearts turn back to Him.

When you’re trying to work through a major, difficult decision, one of the key questions to ask is: If I take this to its logical extreme, where will it end? Or, put another way: Am I heading in the right direction or the wrong direction?

Let’s start with something really simple and basic: our daily diet.

If I add to my diet one donut a day, what will I look like one year from now? Will I be fatter or thinner, less healthy or more healthy? What about 10 years from now?

Conversely, if I stop eating that donut and replace it with some organic berries, how will that affect me? What does the trajectory look like?

It’s the same principle with saving money or wasting money, as well with a host of other decisions we make. There may be some short-term gratification, but what are the long-term results?

Someone might say, “What’s the problem with watching a little porn here and there? I’m not hurting anyone, I’m not getting into any trouble, and it makes me feel better.”

Aside from the fact that, for a God-fearing, God-loving person, the very act of watching porn is sinful, what about the trajectory?

Will it produce freedom or bondage in your life?

A year from now, will you be watching it more often? (The answer is almost certainly yes.) Will you be drawn to harder, even more perverse forms of form? (Again, the answer is almost certainly yes.) And will it negatively impact other areas in your life, including your own sexual life and your ability to relate properly to others you find attractive? (One more big yes.)

How about getting a little too friendly with a co-worker that you’re not married to? Where might that lead if taken to its logical conclusion?

What’s the trajectory of texting and emailing and calling each other on non-business matters? What’s to stop it from turning into full-fledged adultery?

In which direction is this relationship going?

Many things can seem innocent and innocuous in their early stages, just like a rocket that is the slightest bit off target. Nothing to worry about! In the end, though, it will miss its target by many miles.

The wrong trajectory, however so slight, ends up with a major deviation from the original target and goal.

That’s one reason why I often use a full gamut of letters when speaking about gay and trans activism, namely, LGBTQ++. It’s a constant reminder of the trajectory, which originally started with just the G before quickly adding the L, then the B. Then it was T, then Q (which was part of the early foundation of, “We’re here, we’re queer, get used to it”), then beyond.

That’s why websites answer questions such as, “What Does the Full LGBTQIA+ Acronym Stand For?” This same website has a section titled, “Understanding LGBTQ2S+ and other expanded acronyms.”

But of course.

Once you deviate from foundational, societal norms, the possibilities are endless.

Another site offers, “68 Terms That Describe Gender Identity and Expression.” And a non-binary reference page lists a number of multi-genders, including abigender, ambigender, bigender, demiflux, genderfluid, pangender, polygender, and trigender, all defined with the utmost seriousness.

Again, this is what happens when you deviate from “male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27).

That’s why the list of preferred gender pronouns has become absolutely (and sadly) laughable, yielding questions like this: “Is bun/bunself a valid pronoun? My friend was calling me a transphobe since I said it’s not valid.”

One responder answered, “I don’t understand neopronouns (for example, Someone said they prefer ‘bug/bugself’ as pronouns). Is this even respectful to the LGBTQ community?”

Seriously!

More broadly, the larger trajectory of gay activism has inevitably led to this current moment in history, which includes:

1.) The continued assault on our families and children, as Washington state has “passed a bill allowing children to legally be taken away from their parents for not consenting to gender transition procedures on their child.”

2.) The continued assault on our religious liberties, as “A restraining order has been issued against a street preacher threatening him with jail if over the next five years he offends someone by citing Bible verses that oppose the ideology of same-sex marriage.”

3.) The continued assault on our sensibilities, as the White House has vowed “that President Biden will veto a bill that would prevent biological males from participating in women’s sports should it pass both houses of Congress.”

But what else should we expect? This was the inevitable trajectory from the start.

Let’s always remember, then, that everything reproduces after its own kind.

What kind of fruit are we producing?

What is the trajectory of our own lives? In which direction are we going?
