In this segment with moderator Pastor Derek Buikema of Orland Park Christian Reformed Church, Dr. Carl Trueman answers the question of how religious freedom is different in the United Kingdom. Dr. Trueman notes that Europe has a very different religious history than the United States, especially in the last 150 years. He goes on to state that an understanding of the crisis of Christianity in Europe needs to be understood from the perspective of the First World War because this war was the breaking point. Dr. Trueman goes on to note the differences in how the American church and the European church secularized, and he gives hope for the European church to be distinctive in the culture once again.
