Illinois Bill Looks to Pull the Plug for Rights of Conscience for Medical Professionals

A bill making its way through the General Assembly looks to dismantle one of the strongest state protections in the nation for the Rights of Conscience for medical professionals. Illinois Senate Bill 1564 would gut the Healthcare Right of Conscience Act and force doctors, pharmacists, and pregnancy resource centers to refer for abortions and discuss the “benefits” of abortion.
