So when we stand for the unborn, we're not just obeying God's commandment that we find in Leviticus 20 to speak up. He says, if you sacrifice children to Moloch or you let them and you pretend not to see, I'll cut you off from the people. For what? For killing babies? No, no, no, no, no. It says, it says, for looking at those who sacrifice their children to Moloch and not doing anything. So this issue is not important just because God says it is. It's important because if we can't get it right and we can't answer those questions, you can kiss America and your freedom's goodbye.
Because we're dealing with the question, what does it mean to be a human? In the Christian worldview, it should not concern you that the baby in the womb is not yet conscious or self-aware because we have a biblical grounding for human rights and the sanctity of life that is based on who you are, not how you function. That you're a human being created in the image of God with all of the potential to exercise those mental faculties as you develop, even if you can't exercise them all right now in the womb, you're just as valuable.
