Kennedy: Radical Gender Procedures Are Harming Children

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced new steps to end the federal funding of radical “sex-rejecting” medical procedures on children, including mastectomies.

The administration plans to cut off Medicaid and Medicare funding to hospitals that perform these irreversible procedures on minors. Kennedy said a recent HHS review found that such interventions pose serious medical risks and can cause lasting harm to children.

According to the HHS report, so-called “gender-affirming” treatments carry significant dangers, including infertility and reduced bone density. Rather than rushing children toward permanent medical damage, the report recommends psychotherapy as a safer and more appropriate response to gender distress.
