Krista Schild: Political Islam and Constitutional Conflict

Krista Schild is the Texas Director of RAIR Foundation USA, a grassroots organization that works as a counter-group to “Sharia and Marxist threat organizations.” She is a vocal critic of Islamic institutions and development projects in Texas.

On February 10, 2026, she testified before the U.S. House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government, during a hearing titled:

“Sharia-Free America: Why Political Islam & Sharia Law Are Incompatible with the U.S. Constitution.”

Schild argues that political Islam (not just personal religious practice) seeks to establish legal, cultural, and institutional systems based on Sharia law that conflict with American constitutional principles. Her main claims are that:

-Sharia-based governance is fundamentally incompatible with American law
-Islamist movements pursue long-term cultural and institutional influence
-Some legal and social developments already show this influence
-Government action is needed to prevent expansion of Sharia-based systems
