U.S. Senator Paul Challenges Vaccine Recommendations for Infants

Microbiologist and public health official, Dr. Susan Monarez, PhD, the former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), testified before the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee yesterday, that she was fired for refusing to comply with demands from Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. that she viewed as compromising scientific integrity.

Monarez claims that she was being asked to approve changes to the childhood vaccination schedule—potentially including the removal of the hepatitis B vaccine for newborns. Monarez defended the importance of vaccines, including the hepatitis B vaccine and the COVID-19 shot.
