Whether you’re rooting for the New England Patriots or the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl 52, I hope that you’ll also help us Tackle Demand for sex trafficking. When it comes to ending this form of sexual exploitation, we should all be rooting for the same team.
Every year, the joy of the sport, tradition, and healthy competition are juxtaposed with the abuse of sex trafficking at the Super Bowl. Every year some people make hyperbolic claims that the Super Bowl is the largest sex trafficking event in the country, and others claim that sex trafficking at the Super Bowl is a complete myth. The reality is that sex trafficking does occur at the Super Bowl, and at most large events, due to increased demand of people looking to buy sex in a concentrated area around a celebratory experience. This needs to stop.
By joining our Tackle Demand Campaign, and signing up for our Twitter Thunderclap, you can send a strong message that you aren’t going to stand by and tolerate the proliferation of sex trafficking — our modern-day slavery — at the Super Bowl.
When you sign up for our Twitter Thunderclap, you will be able to pre-schedule tweets to go out at the same time as other activists around the country, amplifying each other’s message!
As you send out your own social media posts about this problem, don’t forget to use the hashtags #TackleDemand and #SB52. For more facts, research, and social media graphics, click here.
Thank you for joining this important campaign.
